Queer Movies’, the review of Lgbtqia+ themed films organised by Alto Adige Pride Südtirol in collaboration with Filmclub and Centaurus Arcigay Alto Adige Südtirol, is about to start. Four monthly appointments proposed within the ‘Road to Pride’, the series of events that will accompany the city of Bolzano and Alto Adige towards the big parade on 28 June 2025. Each film will be an opportunity to talk about gender identity, sexual orientation, families, intersectionality and feminism through the stories, lives and voices of those who live these dimensions of being and loving.

On the occasion of documenta fifteen, the artists Hannes Egger and Thomas Sterna rented an exhibition space at the KulturBahnhof in Kassel and gave other artists the chance to win a week’s presentation of their works. Leaving the decision to chance rather than a jury of experts, any interested artist, curator or exhibition organiser could enter the prize draw simply by purchasing a lottery ticket. The book, recently published by Distanz Verlag (Berlin), contains not only documentation of the 13 winning exhibitions, but also texts by Katinka Fischer, Hannes Egger, Hans Dieter Huber, Larissa Kikol, Farid Rakun (ruangrupa), Thomas Sterna, Dan Perjovschi and Judith Waldmann. The book will be presented with a panel discussion in which Masatoshi Noguchi, Sarah Oberrauch and Andrea Varesco as winners, together with Hannes Egger and Thomas Sterna, will talk about their experiences with the lottery. HCB match in the Central European ICE Hockey League The Hockey Club Bolzano is an ice hockey team from Bolzano. It is the team with the highest number of championships won in Italy. It features a cappella pieces, solo organ works, and Christmas carols accompanied by instruments. The musical journey spans from the early Baroque with Heinrich Schütz to contemporary compositions by Karl Jenkins and John Rutter. Südtiroler Vokalensemble Founded in 1986, the Südtiroler Vokalensemble has consistently aimed to perform high-quality choral music from various musical eras. The ensemble has an active concert history, particularly in South Tyrol. Its singers, many of whom are choir directors, music teachers, or vocal instructors themselves, come from all parts of South Tyrol. In March 2025, the Südtiroler Vokalensemble will join the Cologne Gürzenich Choir to perform Antonín Dvořák’s Stabat Mater at the Cologne Philharmonic. The same piece will be performed with the Haydn Orchestra on June 4, 2025, at the Brixen Cathedral and on June 5 in Trento. Currently led by conductor and organist Dominik Bernhard, the Südtiroler Vokalensemble’s Christmas concert program this year has been arranged by him. Manuel Schiabello Born in Sacile (PN), Manuel Schiabello graduated in 2010 with a degree in civil engineering from the University of Innsbruck. From 1995 to 2014, he studied organ at music schools in Bolzano and Innsbruck. For 20 years, he served as the organist in his hometown of Deutschnofen. Since 2012, he has pursued a three-year church music program in Brixen and has been the musical director of the parish choir “Maria im Moos” in Sterzing since 2014. In 2019, he graduated with a degree in Instrumental and Vocal Pedagogy (IGP) at the University of Mozarteum Salzburg in Innsbruck, specializing in organ under Prof. Michael Schöch and focusing on piano and accompaniment. Schiabello is currently a teacher of organ, piano, and accompaniment at the “Landesdirektion Deutsche und ladinische Musikschule.” Admission: €15, Seniors/Students €10

This year, the Symphonic Winds wind orchestra, under the artistic direction of Alexander Veit, will perform together with the German trumpet soloist Christoph Moschberger in Dobbiaco (Gustav Mahler Saal of the Euregio Cultural Centre Dobbiaco), Bolzano (Konzerthaus) and Merano (Kursaal). Manfred Sinn, Sabino Monterisi, Daniel Vieider and Ivan Marini (saxophone quartet) will also perform as soloists alongside Symphonic Winds. Christoph Moschberger is a prime example of applied versatility. His artistic versatility makes him one of the most exciting trumpet soloists of his generation During his studies in Cologne, he played in almost all German radio big bands. Christoph Moschberger has worked with many international jazz greats and has appeared on stage or in front of the television camera with almost all well-known German-speaking pop artists. The list of his references seems almost endless. His first solo album ‘Home’ was released in 2019 in collaboration with the Austrian brass band ‘Da Blechhaufn’. His second solo album, which he recorded with the WDR Funkhausorchester Köln, will be released in 2024. In addition to his regular appearances as a soloist, Christoph Moschberger is a permanent ensemble member of ‘Federspiel’. He also tours with Thomas Gansch's ‘Blasmusik Supergroup’ and Gregor Meyle's band. They are probably one of the most creative and versatile ensembles on the scene and attach great importance to entertaining their audience with varied music from a wide range of genres. In the 35 years of its existence, the South Tyrolean group has developed from a classical brass quintet into a six-member ensemble whose unmistakable sound has been enriched for years by vocals and the use of various non-brass instruments. Bozen Brass deliberately does not commit itself to any particular musical style. Their repertoire ranges from John Dowland to Sting, from "baroque to blues" in order to reach a wide audience. They can easily offer this range musically, but with brass instruments, vocals and other instruments, they can of course do much more. The band takes a fast-paced and unconventional route through music history and a wide variety of styles, from festive baroque music to virtuoso classical music, grand dramatic opera, playful chansons, musicals, country, Oberkrainer and alpine folk music, jazz, pop and rock. Greats such as Sting, Elvis and Michael Jackson appear on stage. Robert Neumair provides the ultimate swing from time to time on the drums or with a solo on the Styrian accordion. Incidentally, all the pieces have been specially arranged for Bozen Brass by this musical jack-of-all-trades.
