Tote Möser, Totes Moos, Totmoos are the various names of this moorland biotope above Acereto. A remote small plateau with a few isolated pine trees, in winter usually covered with a thick blanket of snow. Grouse area.

The Speikboden is more than just a favorite ski area. It is also an ideal hiking area. The mountain got its name from a little flower that grows in the high mountains – Alpine valerian, or “Speik” in German – and that is in fact because this lovely flower is often found in the hiking area.

With the cable cars you can reach the "Speikboden Alm" at 2000 metres of altitude or the Sonnklar mountain at 2400 metres above sea level. Both are starting points for fantastic walks and hikes along well maintained trails. Particularly popular are the sunrise walks - to spot the first sunrays while the valley still lies in darkness is a memorable experience.

10 meditational spots are found along the side of the path until we reach the "Franziskus and Klara" chapel. By entering the symbolic gate near the car park you enter a new world. Furthermore, those who hike this path in silence will have a rich experience. The chapel is open day and night. The Liturgy of the Word (religious readings) can be celebrated by groups without asking beforehand. Speikboden Bergbahnen is a snow-secure, familiarly skiing-area in the valley “Tauferer-Ahrntal”. It contains 8 cableways with a total transport performance of 13.140 persons/hour. About 80 hectare of slopes has to offer enough liberty for everyone – from the summit (2.400 m altitude) to the valley (950 m altitude). Many alternations of the terrain and very wide slopes make happy beginners and professional skiers. In the summer the “Speikboden” is a fantastic hiking area!

The two ski arenas Speikboden and Klausberg including the two town lifts Weißenbach and Rein in Taufers form together the Skiworld Ahrntal. A single ski pass allows you to use over 74 kilometers of slopes while 21 lifts from 950 to 2.510 meters carry you to the mountain top. The covering artificial snow systems of the Skiworld Ahrntal guarantee snow all the way through.

A very rewarding, medium difficulty hike to the most beautiful alpine lake in the Durreck group. Trail no. 33, 1,5 to 2 hrs elevation gain: 560 m The trail starts from the Klausberg upper station, passes the Speck & Schnapsalm, and reaches the Baurschaft refuge and lake Klaussee. From there, you can continue up to the Rauchkofel or Breite Rast.

The mountain farm Wissemanhof is situated high up between Cantuccio and Caminata in steep terrain and benefits from stunning views.

This Via Ferrata has truely earned the name "Avventura"! Three-rope bridge, Burmabridge, plank bridge or chimes - these are just a few elements that await you on the new Via Ferrata at Speikboden! Beautifully laid out, with many steps and final summit cross, the trail offers a breathtaking view through the Ahrntal valley.

The wonderful adventure Via Ferrata with difficulty B rounds off the wide climbing offer at Speikboden, along with the Via Ferrata Speikboden (B/C) and the Via Ferrata Kids (A).

The starting point is at the Station Speikboden Alm at 2.000m, which can be reached by cablecar. After a 30-minute hike on the forest road in direction to Luttach, you reach the entrance of the Via Ferrata Avventura. A total of 10 sections have to be climbed before reaching the summit cross of the mountain "Kleiner Nock". The tour is designed as a circular route, the return path is on the hiking trail no. 18a, back to the starting point.

Tour in a magical winter landscape in what is called the “battle zone”, the region where vegetation has to battle with the elements to stay alive and trees are often stunted. Lovely panoramic views. Refreshments: Roaners Bauernkuchl  near the start.

“Michl” is just waiting for a visit from leisure and beginner climbers. On an easy, B-difficulty course, it can offer a real climbing experience to any visitor with a half-good head for heights. After a little overhang, climbers pull themselves over rock bars that on average remain relatively low. Ideal for practising clicking and changing carabiners. A short hiking route shares the via ferrata in two sections. Small surprise: a stream provides refreshment and a place to rest and let you take in the natural surroundings. And not forgetting your own climbing performance too. After a further climb, at the exit of the via ferrata is one of the loveliest viewing points in the Speikboden area. The little Speikboden lake, a hidden gem, rewards all visitors with a natural spectacle at the conclusion of the climb.

Anyone who has got the bug for more climbing can hike down the mountain to the start of the Speikboden's “Genie in a Bottle” via ferrata. Climbers who have used “Michl” to warm up will manage well on the next via ferrata.

The 1200 m high Selva dei Molini is a community with well-cared for highly insulated farm houses scattered in the landscape.

The Neveser Höhenweg is considered to be one of the most beautiful mountain trails in South Tyrol and it joins the Nevesjoch/Chemnitzer Hütte with the Eisbruggjoch/Edelraut Hütte. The starting place is the Neves lake (1865 m).
