Then you should not miss the Sellaronda Bike Day, the day when the roads of the famous Sellaronda are closed to motorized traffic and reserved for cyclists, from 8.30 a.m. to 4.00 p.m. It is the perfect occasion to ride the Dolomites passes Gardena, Sella, Pordoi and Campolongo without noise and vehicle pollution. To take part you do not need to register and you can organize the day according to your wishes and abilities, whether as a sporting challenge or an excursion on two wheels. Join in, participate with friends or family and enjoy riding the unique Dolomite roads admiring the landscapes along the route. The entire tour is 53 km long and has a total difference in altitude of 1600 m, but everyone can drive as long as they want. It is recommended to cycle anticlockwise! The HERO Südtirol Dolomites in Selva Val Gardena represents one of the hardest mountain bike events for amateurs and professional cyclists. The competition is spectacular and a great opportunity for international professional athletes and ambitious amateur cyclists to come together, allowing them to pursue the same dream.

The Dolomites Bike Day ia a unique kind of Saturday! Cyclists of all abilities can ride together on closed roads, up and down the local mountain cols and passes. The 51km loop is open to anyone: professionals, amateurs, youngsters, and beginners. Even using an e-bike is allowed! On this Saturday, from 8.30 a.m. to 2.30 p.m. the Dolomites passes roads Campolongo, Falzarego and Valparola will be closed to the traffic and reserved exclusively for cyclists. At the non-competitive cycling event, every cyclist can take part for free. We recommend to ride in counterclockwise direction. Looking back in time, you realize how much things have changed. Way back in 1987, a group of enterprising local enthusiasts began to believe in a dream, a cycling race that starting from Alta Badia would have touched the most beautiful passes in the Dolomites. When the first Maratona took place, there was no talk about granfondo yet, the live TV broadcast was unimaginable, tourism development did not meet the current requirements and these daredevils would never have dared to hope that the "Maratona dles Dolomites" would become one of the most famous granfondo worldwide, with 8,000 participants from five continents and with over 30,000 requests of participation each year. The beauty of the Maratona dles Dolomites-Enel is in riding the mountain passes that have made the history of world cycling without the harassment of cars and motorcycles.
