On Saturday, 07 September: On this day, about 1000 sheep return from the mountain meadows to the valley. The successful return of the animals is celebrated by farmers and guests. Tasty, typical dishes such as "Schöpsernes" are served. Sunday, 08 September: The goats return from the mountain pastures to the valley on this day and their arrival is celebrated with delicacies such as "Kitzbratl" as well as lots of good humour at the festival site.

For centuries, each June shepherds have been driving their sheep from the Schnalstal Valley across the still snow-mantled saddles to graze in the pasturelands belonging to the farmers in Venter Valley in Austria. They return in mid September. About 1,500 sheep leave from the “Rofenberg-Alm“ in the early morning, reaching Hochjoch near the Bella Vista lodge (2845m) at about 11:30 a. m. The sheep arrive in Maso Corto between 3:00 p. m. The Bella Vista hut (2845 m) can be reached in about 1 hour on foot from the top station of the Roter Kofel chairlift (2543 m), follow the signs and trail number 3.

Ceremonial cattle drive in Val Martello with arrival of the cattle in Trattla. There will be a small party there afterwards.

The traditional cattle drive from the Oberdörfer and Brugger Alm alpine pasture will take place again on 8 September 2024. In the period from the beginning of September to the end of September, before it gets colder in the higher altitudes, the cattle drives take place in South Tyrol. The best dairy cows are lavishly and beautifully decorated with flowers in recognition of their performance. In the valley, the village community celebrates the arrival of the cattle and dairymen with a small feast of food and drink. Sheep from Corzes spend the summer in the Venter Tal / Ötztal (A) and return in autumn through the Val Senales and the Val Silandro to Corzes. Sheep with subsequent blessing of the animals and festivities. Various food specialities and sheep raffle. The event takes place in all weathers.

In a carefully curated exhibition, you will find around 50 impressive works, including statues and paintings, reflecting 700 years of regional history. These artworks invite you to explore not only their religious significance but also the socio-political and artistic changes over the centuries.

The Parish Museum is located in the historic Gothic granary, a charming building from 1559, situated in the northeast corner of the parish garden. Since 1984, this lovingly restored granary has served as the Parish Museum, providing a unique setting for the exhibition.

The mountain pine not only grows in the Sarntal Valley, in the valley of the mountain pines, but also on the acidic silicate soils of the Villanderer Alm. The power of this mountain plant is enormous. The soothing and fragrant oil is suitable for relaxing baths, infusions and wraps or as an additive in scrubs. In the fragrance lamp, the scent helps to improve the room climate. On Mondays there is a show firing. This gives anyone interested an insight into how the mountain pine is processed into oil.

Waiting for you is a farmer who will accompany you to the barn, let you collect eggs, feed animals and who knows what else.
