    A year full of sunshine, wind and water is being pressed and cellared from the grapes on the southern slopes of Castelbello during these autumn days. This new wine needs to be tasted! The farmers' wives serve it with sausage, dumplings and sauerkraut. There is also a batch of roasted chestnuts on the table. This is Törggelen!     Naturns/Naturno, Meran/Merano and environs
    Connoisseurs and friends of South Tyrolean cuisine should not miss the Törggelefest! Traditional dishes, roasted chestnuts and new wine, as well as musical entertainment on the town hall square in Naturno. Start 10.30 am. Admission free! In case of bad weather the event is canceled.

    Chestnut culture hike along the irrigation channel path
    Schlanders/Silandro, Vinschgau/Val Venosta
    ATTENTION: currently, the tour is only offered in German and Italian Chestnut expert and chairman of the Vinschgau valley chestnut association Max Gögele takes you on a tour of the long history (some are up to 400 years old) and cultivation of chestnut trees in Kortsch/Corzes and Schlanders/Silando and along the Kastanienwaal irrigation channel path before roasting some “Keschtn” to wind down the day in a cozy atmosphere. Duration: approx. 2 hours Price: 10 € per person Registration: T +39 0473 730 155 (Information office Schlanders) until 5 pm the day before Minimum number of participants: 4 persons

    Guided hike - traditional "Törggelen" con stop at Obermoserhof
    Feldthurns/Velturno, Brixen/Bressanone and environs
    Guided "Törggele" hike with guide Helena Graf, with a stop at the traditional farm "Obermoserhof" and a cosy get-together in the "Stube". Meeting point: 10.00 am Tourist Office Feldthurns, return: around 4.00 pm. Walking time: 2 - 2.5 hours, easy hike. Minimum number of participants: 2 persons, free hike for guests of member accommodation, otherwise € 10.00 per person (excl. consumption).

    On the trail of the chestnut! Guided tour through the chestnut grove in Tschars
    Kastelbell-Tschars/Castelbello-Ciardes, Vinschgau/Val Venosta
    ATTENTION:currently, the tour is only offered in German and Italian On a walk together, you will learn all about ‘the poor man's bread’ and learn interesting facts about the cultivation and harvesting of chestnuts. Afterwards, you can roast chestnuts directly at the farmer's and enjoy a good glass of wine while learning a few more things first-hand.

    From 18th October to 09th November 2025, Feldthurns celebrates its autumnal cultural fruit: the chestnut. During the 28th Chestnut Weeks there is a varied program with guided tours, hikes, tastings and much more!. Discover pleasures of the chestnut from the rural cuisine and wine cellar at the period of the traditional "Törggelen". It is requested to arrive in an environmentally friendly way.     Short hike with guided tour through the chestnut groves of the "Mair am Turm" farm in Grissiano. In front of the historic farm chestnuts are roasted and tasted. After that the hike goes back to the Schmiedlhof (tavern), where a "Marende" is served and enjoyed.
