An exhibition journey in the evocative tower of the castle Ciastel de Tor between the north and the south of the paintings of Siegward Sprotte (1913-2004). Adventure, adrenalin and breath-taking views: all this lies store for you in the exciting 4 Peaks Alta Badia challenge. The aim of this challenge is to conquer the four summits Sas dla Crusc - Santa Croce 2,907 m, Piza dales Diesc - Cima Dieci 3,02 6m, Lavarela 3,055 m and Conturines 3,064 m, on the edge of the Fanes-Senes-Braies Nature Park in the Dolomites UNESCO World Heritage. The ascent of these four mountains is to be attempted only by experienced climbers, as these peaks cannot be reached just on easy, well-sign-posted paths, but also via routes with some very exposed sections. As proof of your achievement you will have a pass which must be stamped every time you reach one of the four summits. All those who manage to complete the challenge in two or more days will have the title “Alta Badia Finisher” conferred upon them. If you manage to complete the ascent of all four summits in one day you will be crowned with the coveted and highly deserved title of “Alta Badia Mountaineer”. In both cases you will take up your place of honour in the “Wall of Fame” which can be viewed online.

The new special exhibition at the Museum Ladin is titled “Countdown to Mass Extinction?”. It focuses on the End Permian Mass Extinction that occurred 252 million years ago and the current climate change. Free entry. What is the current state of waste on the trails in Alta Badia? What are the environmental impacts of litter left in these areas? What are the best practices for managing waste during hikes and outdoor activities? How can we, both individually and collectively, minimize the impact of waste in the mountains? An educational stroll that's simply irresistible. Because with Alessia, a hiking guide and ambassador of Alta Badia, the conversation turns to trash, starting with the waste left on the trails, to understand how certain behaviors can be truly harmful to the Alpine environment. Walking along the most frequented paths of Alta Badia, Alessia encourages collecting the waste left by the careless, all the while sharing curious anecdotes, prompting reflection and awareness. The experience wraps up in a convivial and relaxing moment: a picnic at the base of the Pisciadú waterfalls. Alessia takes care of the organization, and as a memento of the experience and a thank-you for the commitment to the environment, each guest receives an eco-friendly box designed to reduce the use of packaging during mountain snacks. On the way to La Crusc, holy place of reflection The sanctuary of La Crusc/Santa Croce, not only gives its name to one of the most imposing and spectacular Dolomite massifs in Alta Badia, but has also always been in the hearts of the valley's inhabitants. The church's whiteness, its long history handed down over the centuries and its enchanting position make it a favourite destination for pilgrims from all over the world. From the centre of San Cassiano, head towards Rüdeferia and then through the woods to the church of Santa Croce. From here you can admire a panoramic view of the whole valley, as far as the Marmolada. On the way back you will pass typical Ladin dwellings, les viles. Orienteering is known as the „forest sport“, an outdoor adventure in areas of unspoilt natural beauty. You set off from Piz Sorega and with the help of the map and compass provided, you have to try and identify a precise course in the shortest time as possible, with check points called “lanterns”, located in the nearby meadows and woods. An easy walk takes you to the Planfistí mountain pasture, where time seems to stand still. In this beautiful country landscape you can watch the butter being made by farmer Maria and other work that is usually done at high up on the pastures. The Braies lake is one of the most popular destinations in the Dolomites. Alta Badia offers the possibility to reach it directly by bus, contributing to a more sustainable transport. The Three Peaks are the symbol of the Dolomites and are located in the Nature Park of the same name, which was declared a UNESCO World Heritage Site in 2009. The best way to admire them is to follow the path around the massif, passing through meadows and scree with no demanding gradients with the possibility of being accompanied by our guide. From the Ladin Museum we set off together to discover SMACH Val dl'Ert (Art Valley), an open-air sculpture park which in 2023 has one of the special mentions in the National Landscape Award sponsored by the Italian Ministry of Culture. Along the path you will see more than 25 works of art set in an alpine forest, among the fir trees and pastures of a stretch of unspoilt nature. This is a permanent exhibition of sculptures acquired as a result of the SMACH art competition, the Dolomites Biennale. A hidden gem in the dolomites, where enchantment meets nature La Val is the most characteristic and peaceful village of Alta Badia. Situated on the meadows overlooking the Sas de Pütia, here you can still breathe the rural air that once hung over the entire Dolomites. This excursion starts from Biei, a small hamlet of the village, to reach the Rit meadows, marked by the Crusc da Rit cross, the destination of the excursion. From here you can enjoy spectacular views not only of the village of La Val, but also of the surrounding mountains, such as Sas dla Crusc, with the peaks of Sas dales Nü and Sas dales Diesc, and Sas de Pütia.
