The summit offers an exceptional view of the mountains on the South Tyrolean and East Tyrolean side.
Lenkstein (3237 m)
From the Bachertal car park ("Säge", 1580 m) in Rein in Taufers/Riva di Tures: Initially take trail no. 8, a steep forest trail, in the direction of the Kasseler Hütte refuge(2276 m), the last trail section is trail no. 1. Overnight accommodation possible. From the hut, take trail no. 8 on the Arthur Hartdegen trail, a well-constructed high-altitude trail that crosses glacier crevasses and moraines of the Rieserferner mountains and rock faces (partly secured) of the Riesernock and continue to the trail junction near the Ursprungalm hut. Continue on the right-hand trail (trail no. 8), which becomes now steeper and leads over grassy slopes and boulders. At the foot of the summit block, climb steeply straight up over boulders and rock to the summit cross (3237 m).
Alternative: Ascent from the Bachertal car park via Ursprungtal, trail nos. 7, 8 B and 8 A. From the junction near the Ursprungalm, follow the same directions.
Walking time approx. 5.30 h. Not difficult for experienced hikers, the tour requires surefootedness and endurance.
