From your set-off point in Compatsch, follow the tarred road uphill to the Panorama mountain station, until your trail meets with a well-surfaced forest road. Surrounded by a breathtaking mountain panorama, you will pass by Edelweiß hut, Almrosen hut and the Molignon Refuge, which welcome you in for a break after your first climb of the tour. The Zallinger trail continues with a descent to the Tirler hut and a second ascent, passing sulphur springs on the way to the Zallinger mountain hut.
From there you continue towards Monte Pana. The first part of the descent is very stony and requires technical abilities. We recommend inexperienced bikers and children to push the bike on this part. The path merges into a wide forest road and your struggles will be compensated with the wonderful panorama below the mountains Lang- and Plattkofel. Passing the Saltner Schwaige hut you reach Saltria, from here you drive along the alpine road back to Compatsch.
Alternatively, you can take the path number 231 from the mountain inn Zallinger directly to Saltria, passing the hotel Tirler. This route is less demanding and shortens the tour.
