This scenic and interesting walk leads from the centre of Brixen/Bressanone to the Neustift Monastery, one of the largest abbeys in South Tyrol. With its cloister and important library, the monastery complex of the Augustinian canons is most certainly worth a visit.
Start at the Adlerbrücke bridge in the old town of Brixen (561 m) and follow trail no. 16 north on the left side of the Eisack river. Then take Cesare-Battisti-Straße street into the Kranebitt town quarter. Cross the road and pass a residential area before entering the meadows and orchards. Continue walking along the bank of the Eisack before reaching the underpass of the old Pustertaler Straße road. Turn left and follow the road to the Neustift Monastery (595 m). To return, take trail no. 16 back to the starting point.
