Start your hike from the Schneeberg parking area and follow the forest road (Trail No. 5) towards the Pertinger Alm. About halfway up, a path branches off to the left and leads through the forest to the Devil’s Stone. According to legend, this stone was brought here by the devil himself, furious with the farmers of Mühlwald. He attempted to roll the stone down from Mutenock to the valley, but tired from the weight, he stopped to rest. When the morning bell rang, the devil was forced to flee back to the underworld, leaving the stone in the forest where it remains to this day.
From there, the trail continues through the forest to the Pertinger Alm, a welcoming hut with food and drinks, where you’ll enjoy a stunning panoramic view over Puster Valley. Far from the bustle of town, you can relax and savor local specialties.
