Symphonic Winds, this very special wind orchestra consisting of around 50 musicians Symphonic Winds, which consists of around 50 musicians, has enjoyed well over 65,000 concerts. This year, the Symphonic Winds wind orchestra, under the artistic direction of Alexander Veit, will perform together with the German trumpet soloist Christoph Moschberger in Dobbiaco (Gustav Mahler Hall of the Euregio Cultural Centre in Dobbiaco), Bolzano (Konzerthaus) and Merano (Kursaal). Manfred Sinn, Sabino Monterisi, Daniel Vieider and Ivan Marini (saxophone quartet) will also perform as soloists alongside Symphonic Winds. Christoph Moschberger is a great example of great versatility. His artistic versatility makes him one of the most fascinating trumpet soloists of his generation. On December, 21/22 and 26 he will be in South Tyrol. During his studies in Cologne he played in almost all German radio big bands. Christoph Moschberger has worked with many international jazz and has performed on stage or in front of the television camera. The list of his references seems almost endless. In 2019, his first solo album "Home" was released in collaboration with the Austrian brass band "Da Blechhaufn". 2024 is the release date for his second solo album, which he recorded with the WDR Funkhausorchester Köln. In addition to regular appearances as a soloist, Christoph Moschberger is also a permanent ensemble member of "Federspiel". He also tours with the "Blasmusik Supergroup" of Thomas Gansch and the band of Gregor Meyle. This winter, we are excited to once again offer an exclusive ice skating course in collaboration with the talented figure skater Sara Furlan. Pre-Christmas Events in Terento. We want to bring children, families and guests closer to rural culture and traditions on the topic of Christmas. The trail leads from the decorated village centre to the town hall with cookie baking for children, to the crib exhibition and to the Christmas market. Handicraft products are offered at different stalls on the playground. The Christmas experience continues along the trail lit by torchlights and candlelight with special light effects to the "Stockner Waldile" forest, where rural specialities are offered in traditional huts. Fairytales and stories for children are told around the campfire in front of a big Christmas crib and a petting zoo.

Known for his spectacular aerial photographs of western Switzerland taken from a small aeroplane, Ackermann has also created a special photographic monument to the Dolomites. These works have already been shown in illustrated books, in an exhibition at the LUMEN - Museum for Mountain Photography on the Kronplatz in Bruneck, as well as in numerous magazines, portfolios and photo books. Now a ‘Best of’ exhibition by Ulrich Ackermann, member of the Royal Photographic Society in London, will be on show at the South Tyrol Museum of Nature.

This year, the Sterntaler Christmas Market in Lana becomes even more inviting. The enchanting backdrop of the historic Capuchin Garden contributes to the cozy atmosphere, hosting nearly 20 Christmas stalls during the Advent weekends – from November 29 to December 24, 2024. Small fir trees adorned with shiny red ornaments and the warm glow of luminous spheres surround the lovingly decorated stalls offering genuine South Tyrolean handicrafts. An engaging program for the whole family – including ponies and sheep, a glitter workshop, and a hands-on circus, all set to the sounds of festive live music – completes the experience and promises unforgettable moments of enjoyment. Please note that on December 5 and December 31, 2024, only the culinary stalls will be open.

Dolomythos-Museum at Innichen presents: Women scientists Many women, hardly mentioned in earlier times, made important contributions. We honour these often forgotten personalities, as well as the reserches of ordinary people from the valleys.

Guest showcase by Lisa Settari. In this exhibition, Lisa Settari offers insights into her master's thesis on the coming-out narratives of women who love women in South Tyrol's recent history. The work is based on twenty oral history interviews that Lisa Settari was allowed to conduct with ten women-loving women. Thanks to these oral sources and a focus on women's, gender and queer history, the existing historiography of South Tyrol can be both enriched and critically scrutinised. Lisa Settari: born 1994 in Merano, Bachelor in Political Science, Master in European Women's and Gender History, currently lecturer at the ‘Alexandru Ioan Cuza’ University in Iași (Romania).

The project, proposed by the Passirio Merano association and the city of Merano in collaboration with the Merano Women's Museum, shows a selection of photographs, printed using fine art techniques, taken during a long journey by the author through seven Asian countries (Thailand, Nepal, India, Pakistan, Uzbekistan, Tajikistan, Iran) with the declared aim of documenting the situation of women.
