Art that walks - When craft and art walk together
    Klausen/Chiusa, Brixen/Bressanone and environs
It all began with a flash of inspiration, a brilliant idea that brought light into the dark times of Covid. Arnold Delmonego, together with his daughter Nora, who is the fifth generation to run the family business in Klausen, wanted to build bridges. The two master craftsmen, in whose workshop the shoes are still made by hand, suggested that artists and creative minds paint the shoes they had created. A challenge that was met with enthusiasm. For the artists, it was an incentive to get involved, to break new ground, based on the premise of artistically designing an unusual medium in order to achieve surprising results. Craft and art go hand in hand in this exhibition, with the shoes also being flanked by various works by the artists.

Art in Klausen - Lothar Dellago
    Klausen/Chiusa, Brixen/Bressanone and environs
Lothar Dellago: 70 years of sculpture The ‘Art in the Old Town’ project, which brings the works of well-known artists into the old town of Klausen, is growing steadily and will be displayed in 29 shop windows in the upper and lower town this autumn. The exhibition is a tribute to the sculptor Lothar Dellago and his 70 years of creative work. Dellago's sculptures - imbued with music - are dancers who sway their bodies to inaudible sounds and express an irrepressible joy in life, movement and mutual encounters. The players, on the other hand, appear almost static, portraying well-known figures from the world of music. Art arises from the imagination, but Dellago's work is above all mental labour: ‘I try to get to the heart of the matter with just a few strokes.’ His art is the condensation of the line on a smooth surface, the reduction of the narrative to the essentials: the essence of the line.

Permanent exhibition "Silent Forces of Everyday Life: folk belief"
Sand in Taufers/Campo Tures, Ahrntal/Valle Aurina
The special exhibition at Taufers Castle deals with the medieval theme of "popular belief", which combines religious aspects with superstition. Curated by Marie Rubner, it can be seen from March 29 to November 3, 2024.
The exhibition shows a view of the world that was influential until the Enlightenment and is still influential today. It does not judge, but provides insights into religious customs, rituals and the belief in otherworldly powers.
Popular belief sought to harness otherworldly powers in order to achieve safety, health and salvation.
The exhibition presents texts, exhibits and images, including unicorns, basilisks and thinkers.
Although it does not draw any conclusions, the exhibition opens our eyes to the importance of popular beliefs in society. It also shows how the focus on popular belief affects historical conflicts of faith.
It becomes clear that popular belief filled gaps in the Christian understanding of faith by turning to powers beyond. At the same time, the Catholic understanding of faith opposed pagan cults with sacramental alternatives.
A visit to the exhibition can reveal further insights and invites you to visit several times.

Her exhibited screen prints, depicting the iconic MUTTI tomato cans, symbolize the complex theme of belonging and homeland for the people of South Tyrol. What are we made of? To which place do we belong? They also prompt reflection on how certain foods and dishes evoke memories and a sense of familiarity. Scents also play an important role in this, as the aromas from the pots of Hildegard Leitner, Michel Perathoner, and Maria Wassermann fill the GalleriaCivica during the tour. Afterwards, there will be an opportunity to chat and eat together.

They also make us reflect on how certain foods and dishes evoke memories and a sense of familiarity. Smells also play an important role in this sense, and so the aromas of the pots and pans of Hildegard Leitner, Michel Perathoner and Maria Wassermann waft through the GalleriaCivica during the visit. VERNISSAGE Ausstellung Konzept Heimat/VERNISSAGE Mostra: Concetto Heimat/SKB ART
    Bolzano/Bozen, Bolzano/Bozen and environs
A regional exhibition project on the ambivalent concept of Heimat in cooperation between the Heimatpflegeverband Südtirol, the Südtiroler Künstlerbund and the Granaio di Nomi, organised on the occasion of the 75th anniversary of the Heimatpflegeverband Südtirol. Rooted from early childhood, the Heimat accompanies people throughout their lives, shaping identities and entire families. It can be familiar or lost, and serves as a utopian construct that simultaneously conveys a seemingly real emotional condition. The German word Heimat is difficult to translate into Italian - as in other languages - and few concepts are so strongly connoted by emotion and yet so deeply nuanced. In a world of constant change, which entails a loss of social ties, the nurturing of tradition and Heimat appears as an alternative to modern digitised speed. Heimat is experienced on the one hand as an Arcadian refuge that stimulates self-reflection. On the other hand, history and the current political situation show how this ideal can be instrumentalised and lead to exclusion, even to violence and war. Under fundamentally changed living conditions, the concept of Heimat increasingly takes on new meanings. In relation to waves of migration, Heimat represents a complex interface that raises questions of belonging, cultural rootedness and adaptability. People who leave their Heimat and live in new environments look for ways to define their identity in the conflict between past and present. Added to this is the influence of climate change, which entails not only physical but also emotional changes. Solastalgia - the feeling of homesickness without having left one's home, caused by environmental changes in one's area - is spreading. In this extensive exhibition, between the SKB ARTES venues, the outdoor area of the NOI Techpark and the Granary in Nomi, 25 artists from the region explore the concept of 'Heimat' through various media and on various levels of content. They deconstruct the term and investigate which dimensions the complex and layered concept of Heimat can encompass on a cultural, geographical, social, political and emotional level, both in the present and in the future.Participating artists: Leonhard Angerer, Walter Blaas, Italo Bressan, Susanne Burchia, Stefano Cagol, Hannes Egger, Ulrich Egger, Karolina Gacke, Werner Gasser, Elisabeth Hölzl, Elias Jocher, Wil-ma Kammerer, Kira Kessler, Angelo Demitri Morandini, Manuel Oberkalmsteiner, Elisabeth Oberrauch, Laura Pan, Lissy Pernthaler, Christian Piffrader, Leonora Prugger, Paula Prugger, Sylvie Riant, Ariel Trettel, Gustav Willeit, Andreas Zingerle. Curators: Eleonora Klauser Soldá, Lisa Trockner. Co-curators: Remo Forchini and Valentine Kostner. The exhibition opens on Saturday 7 September at 5 p.m. at SKB ARTES in Bolzano and on Friday 13 September at 6.30 p.m. at the Granaio in Nomi. The exhibition will be open until 25 October. The outdoor installation at the NOI Techpark is also accessible free of charge until 25 October.

Temporary exhibition / Markus Krottendorfer - Photopsia
Bruneck/Brunico, Dolomites Region Kronplatz/Plan de Corones
In the “Photopsia” exhibition—a term that describes a visual disturbance manifesting in the form of hallucinatory perceptions—, Krottendorfer ties together three different projects about fictions from the early modern age. “Mountains of Kong”—a mountain range in Africa which was included in maps of the world until the early 20th century despite the fact that it never existed, showcasing a colonial-era production of fictitious knowledge about Africa. “Point of View”—the Chinese cabinets of the Hofburg in Brixen/Bressanone and Neustift Abbey, bearing witness to a romanticized view of an imaginary “Orient” but also to the power coming from the depiction of the world. “Phantom of the Poles”—In 1906, William Reed published a book of the same name in which he postulates that there is another world located inside the Earth, perhaps even unknown civilizations—an early form of “alternative facts”? All three projects allow us to reflect on the role of photography in the space between reality and fiction, truth and fallacy in our very own present.

Bruneck/Brunico, Dolomites Region Kronplatz/Plan de Corones
Wind. The clouds, the sun, the moon. The stars. Water. Life. The quiet. Lukas Schäfer, born in 1992, hails from St.Georgen/San Giorgio in the Pustertal valley. He grew up between the Dolomites and the main ridge of the Alps. Even when he was a young child, his parents would show him the mountains. Ever since then, Lukas has been fascinated by nature, its landscapes, its details, and its animals. Lukas competed in professional freeskiing events before he got injured and discovered nature photography. He was immediately captivated. From that moment on, Lukas has rediscovered the mountains and their inhabitants time and time again with his camera. His passion would eventually turn into a profession. Some of his photographs and films have already won international awards. His debut book titled “Südtirol, Secrets of Nature” is a collection of photos and stories from South Tyrol and its border regions.
