The track crosses the whole Seiser Alm and leads over gravel, narrow paths and wooden bridges. The reward is fantastic view over the Dolomites.
From Compatsch, the route leads over meadows and pastures towards the Ritsch Schwaige Hotel and from there, past the Icaro Hotel to the mountain station of the Ortisei/St. Ulrich cable car, back to the Ritsch Schwaige, past the Rauchhütte hut and up to the highest point at 2,050m at the Almrosenhütte hut below the Goldknopf. The trail then leads past the Panorama Hotel and the Laurinhütte hut back to Compatsch. The terrain is gravel, asphalt and mountain paths. This championship route is a challenge both for pros and amateur runners.
The road to the landscape conservation area Seiser Alm is closed to private traffic from 9.00am to 5.00pm. During this time you can get to the Seiser Alm by the Seiser Alm cable car from Seis or by bus from Kastelruth. You can descend from Compatsch at any time.
