The wind on Lake Reschen is aided by thermals due to the altitude and pass location. As a rule, when the sun is shining and the weather is high pressure, a steadily increasing breeze from the south builds up from late morning. In low-pressure weather conditions, the wind turns to the north and blows southwards across the lake, which the sailors have to share with some windsurfers and kitesurfers.
The Sailing Association Reschensee has its headquarters at the lakeside. The main event of the year is the race of the bell tower of Resia Lake. There are also sailing lessons for beginners.
