Our family-run restaurant offers you specialities of the South Tyrolean cuisine. We are known for our roast mutton, our Kaiserschmarren and our homemade cakes. You can reach us from Dorf Tirol starting from the restaurant Tiroler Kreuz following the forest road; from Kuens following the irrigation channel path Kuenser Waalweg; along the Merano high altitude route (Meraner Höhenweg).

We are a traditional Tyrolean inn next to the church in the center of Tirolo. The inn has been a family business for generations. We serve home-made and freshly prepared dishes and South Tyrolean wines in our historic, 13th century, listed building.

Our establishment, which is ten minutes above the famous Tappeinerweg trail surrounded by vineyards, is the perfect destination for visitors looking for peace and relaxation. A playground is available for your children. Treat yourself to a drop of home-made wine, or a Marende, a traditional snack of cold meat, cheese and bread on a wooden board, and more. Enjoy Italian coffee and choose from an array of delicious cream cakes, fruit flans and other baked goodies at our cake buffet. Our homemade specialities, for example strawberry cake, strawberry roulade, apple and quark strudel and, in autumn, our plum cake, are particularly popular with our guests.

Arrival on the Hochmuth- already with the first step from the cablerrailway- nature purely. Our mountain inn spoils you with traditional lusciousness which comes from our own agriculture. If you enjoy and experience in a special panoramic situation in about 1.400 m above the famous health resort town of Merano and the Adige valley (Etschtal). The special position makes our mountain inn an ideal starting point for many diverse wanderings and mountain hikes of all kind in the known Meraner to height way.

The Sandgruberhof is located in the pedestrian zone leading to Tyrol Castle, around 10 minutes on foot from the center of the village. The historic structure of the Sandgruberhof has been fundamentally preserved to the present day. It is easy to forget time and space in the centuries-old vaulted cellar, in the garden with its spectacular views and whilst enjoying the lovingly prepared dishes and delicacies.

The ‘Gartner’ has a considerable role to play among the leading gourmet addresses in South Tyrol. The young squad headed by Toque-awarded chef Daniel Niedermair inspires hotel guests with a very contemporary and exceptionally creative cuisine, prepared using regional produce. Our guests dine either in the winter garden restaurant ‘The view’, in the dining hall ‘The Taste’ or in ‘The Stube’. At lunch time our guests chill on the wood terrace in the lounge, enjoying casual bistro dishes. For an aperitif and after dinner the terrace is a much-used meeting point.
