This makes a visit to the old town of Brixen an experience for the whole family. "Brixen for Kids", the year-round free childcare programme, is a special initiative aimed primarily at the local population and all visitors to Brixen's old town. Our year-round free offer invites children between the ages of 3 and 11 to have a good time in professional care. The social cooperative "Kinderfreunde Südtirol" is responsible for the care and the programme, which is adapted to the season. For whom? Local and seasonal, straight from the producer. Farmers from the surrounding area bring their own farm produce to the Brixen old town centre. Depending on the season, fresh fruit and vegetables, dairy products, eggs, flowers, honey, homemade jams and pasta sauces, refined distillates and organically grown herbs as well as wooden handicrafts are offered on Wednesdays and Saturdays. From April to October, local associations prepare fresh tirtln (fried stuffed pastry) on site on a weekly basis. This means that every Saturday is also a culinary experience. This market has been a popular, lively meeting place for locals and guests for 30 years.

At 9:00 a.m. High Mass with a church day procession followed by a morning pub with the "Gufidauner Böhmischen". From 2:00 p.m. traditional church day concert by the Gufidaun music band. Supporting programme: Delicious Törggele specialities, farmers' market, table bowling.

You go on a stalk with a hunter! Together you will roam through forests and meadows in the early hours of the morning and keep an eye out for wild animals. During this easy hike, our hunters will share their knowledge of the local flora and fauna with you. Followed by a small hunter's snack at a hut. For a long time it was very difficult to reach Terenten from the valley. For hundreds of years the village people had to look after themselves. The farmers and craftsmen provided food and clothes. Almost every farm had its own mill. However, only few of them are still fully functional. The educational mills path leads along Ternerbach River. During a 1,5 hour hike you walk past 7 renovated corn mills, some of which are up to 500 years old. This is where farmers used to grain corn into fine flour, and sometimes still do. During the summer months one mill is open to the public every Monday from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. No registration required.

The Villanders mine in the Eisack Valley, with a wide view of the Dolomites, was one of the most important mining areas in Tyrol in the Middle Ages. At that time, silver, galena, copper and much more were mined. The Villanders Culture and Museum Association has carefully restored the mine in recent years. It is now one of the few mines in South Tyrol that is open to visitors. Guided tours only from April to October on Tuesdays and Thursdays at 10:30 and 14:30, Sundays at 10:30 (duration approx. 1.5 h) In July & August additionally on Wednesdays at 10:30 (duration approx. 2 h). IMPORTANT: arrive at the mine at least 10 minutes in advance! Individual special tours are available all year round on request. All prices can be found on the mine's website.

We will meet up in the centre of Spinges and start our hike to the Opera 24 bunker. On our way there, we will have the chance to learn intriguing details about the builder of the Holy Sepulchre Chapel (1685) and the historical and artistic heritage of the local parish church and its small museum. We will also find out about the way of life in an 18th century farmer’s parlour, and why 400 people were burnt alive in a local farmhouse. The highest point of our hike is a bunker in Mussolini’s Alpine Wall, where we will learn about its history before enjoying a picnic on site or stopping over at a farmer’s inn in Spinges. In the event of adverse weather, we will skip the hike. You will still have the opportunity to reach the bunker by car and enjoy a stopover at a farmer’s inn in Spinges after our bunker tour. This easy hike takes you to a farm in the idyllic hamlet of Pein, where you will prepare a farmhouse pizza together with farmer's wife Johanna and bake it in the stone oven. Johanna will also explain how she makes mozzarella and will certainly let you taste some of her homemade products. On the way back, you will visit Martha and her little ‘Ladile’ (farm shop). She will tell you about her products and how she processes all kinds of herbs into teas and tinctures.

At the alpaca pace on a 1.5 hour HIKE and INTRODUCTION with lots of interesting facts about alpacas. Including a refreshing drink (homemade elderflower juice) on the Huberhof terrace afterwards.
