Gasthof Kohlern's cuisine, with its full commitment to Bozen's tradition of special delicacies, has distinguished itself many times. Mushrooms, blossoms and herbs come from the surrounding woodland and meadows. Meat and vegetables come preferably from the farmers in the region. Everything is home-made.
We attach great importance to a light and healthy kitchen. Regional products such as fruit, goat cheese, alpine cheese, milk, game, lamb, turkey and beef are sourced from small farmers in Lüsen. The Lüsnerhof kitchen offers a rich selection even for the most spoiled palate.
Local products from South Tyrol fill the pots in our kitchen and are carefully prepared for presentation on your plate. From the "common" South Tyrolean bacon dumpling with a refined herb garnish from our own garden to the tagliatelle Caprese with fresh basil and South Tyrolean mozzarella, the selection is great and the symbiosis of traditional and Mediterranean cuisine make the Eisack Valley cuisine a must for food lovers. We have placed great importance on the cuisine in our house for generations. Franz Tauber was one of the first wine waiters in Alto Adige. He transmitted his passion for fine cuisine and precious wines to the whole family, which became one of Unterwirt’s strengths.
The menu varies from season to season. We regularly have culinary weeks based on various themes: first courses, fish specialities or the cuisine of the Valle Isarco.
Autumn is the season of chestnut feasts and novello wine. The special chestnut weeks are a culinary highlight in autumn (end of October) along with the chestnut gala evening in late autumn.
