Especially in the valley, where the first harbingers of spring are known to bloom and chirp a little earlier than in the mountains. On the Alto Adige Wine Road, spring is all about wine and culinary delights. From the end of March to June, exquisite wines and tasty treats can be savoured in the villages from Nals/Nalles to Salurn/Salorno and in the wine town of Bolzano - at top-class wine events, culinary highlight events and various gastronomic weeks in selected restaurants.

Fresh vegetables and fruits, eggs, spices, cheese, honey, wine, juice….and many more quality products cultivated and produced in Kaltern are being sold from 8 am to noon on the Square of the town. Come by and experience the taste of nature. All these products have been produced and are being sold by the local farmers themselves. In a matter of fact South Tyrol enjoys of a very good reputation as far as the production of quality products is concerned. Thanks to the accurate cultivation methods and the strict hygenic regulations there is no doubt that these goods are of the highest quality and of the best taste.

Sonja will provide you with information about the South Tyrolean Alpine apple, variety overview, cultivation methods, field work, processing, and marketing. You can expect a tasting of apples and apple juice from a local producer, along with a short walk through nearby orchards. Duration is approximately 1.5 hours. A minimum of 4 participants is required. Meeting point is directly at the Kalterer Moos farm No. 16, Pomaria Court, after the Moos Bar (gas station towards Auer) 20 meters. Small asparagus festival to celebrate the opening of the asparagus season.

n the villages of Vilpian, Siebeneich and Terlan asparagus has been grown for centuries. Today 15 asparagus growers in Terlan plant approx. 10 ha of high quality asparagus and sell it under the trade mark and hallmark of excellence Margarete. The elegant looking and extremely mild tasting Terlan asparagus is very popular with the connoisseurs of this white spring vegetable. In April and May several restaurants invite visitors to enjoy classic and creative asparagus dishes made with the valuable Margarete asparagus. Fresh asparagus with home-cured ham, boiled potatoes and Bozner sauce is one of the classics. The meal is accompanied by the fine, mineral containing Terlano “asparagus wine” (Sauvignon) from the Terlan winery.

In German language. From end of march til Mid August. First discover the old and new cellars of the Terlan winery, founded in 1893, see how the wine is made and how the bottles are bottled. Afterwards you can taste: there are four Terlan wines to enjoy. Cost: € 30 Please book at the tourist office by Thursday, midday. It is strictly forbidden to bring animals, regardless of their species, for viewing and tasting.

These are regattas on Lake Kaltern in various boat classes. The events take place on the waters of Lake Kaltern, the preparations and award ceremonies at the club's headquarters in St. Josef am See, no. 14.
