The ski and snowboard schools of Val Gardena cordially invite you to join the torchlight descent in celebration of their 90th anniversary. The ski instructors will guide you into the captivating world of alpine skiing, showcasing impressive techniques from various disciplines, and thrilling you with spectacular freestyle jumps.

The Gsiesertal Lauf is one of the best-known and best-loved ski marathons in the entire Alpine region. It is the second largest ski marathon in Italy, and is held on the 3rd weekend in February in the Gsies Valley, South Tyrol (Italy). Ever since it was first held back in 1984, this race has never once been cancelled due to weather conditions. In 2021, the event was cancelled for reasons of force majeure (Corona). The event attracts a great deal of international skiers, with a good forty nations at the starting line every year and a great many World and Olympic Champions listed on the roll of honour. The race runs along two routes, one of 30 km and one of 42 km; the classic race is held on Saturday and the skating race on Sunday. The amateur “Just for Fun” group. with none of the stress of rankings and timekeeping, is also extremely popular, and the programme of events also includes the “Gsiesertal-KIDS-run” on Saturday. The children of the nursery school provide an entertaining children's music programme with dance and music. As barley soup with smoked carré was usually cooked for lunch on Fat Thursday, young people and children would sleep in their neighbours' houses to swap the soup pot with the tasty dish for a pot with an old shoe floating in the water. The merchants and restaurateurs always come up with something "crazy" idea - and every second year the traditional Lasa Carnival parade takes place. You can, should, of course, very like to come as a "masked" to Lasa and enjoy until late in the evening .

Dolomites Dirndl Ski Day Val Gardena has decided to celebrate Women’s Day on the 8th of March 2024 by hosting an exciting and colourful sport event. The Women’s parallel slalom will see all participants wear a ‘dirndl’ (a traditional South Tyrolean dress). Participants will meet at the Baita Daniel on the Seceda, where the race will take place. After the race, Women's Day will be properly celebrated with a party at Café Val d'Anna. Info & registration at the Tourist Office Ortisei.

In March, the ski slopes and mountain tops of the Seiser Alm will reverberate with sweet melodies. Six days long, amid dazzling sunshine and snow-capped mountains, skiers and snowboarders, as they glide across the slopes, will be able to enjoy sweet melodies and dynamic rhythms provided by accomplished musicians. "Swing on Snow" is an opportunity to listen to and enjoy authentic Alpine folk music – with the emphasis on "authentic". The bands play on the various ski slopes on the Seiser Alm in the morning, at lunchtime they perform in the mountain huts of the Seiser Alm and in the evening the villages of Castelrotto, Siusi, Fiè and Tires host atmospheric after ski concerts. The concerts are free of charge and there is no seat reservation needed. During the WinterMusicFestvial musical enjoyment combines perfectly with skiing. The 17th edition of Swing on Snow will take place twice over three days from 13.03.-15.03.2025 and from 19.03.-21.03.2025.

Rock The Dolomites, the great musical event everyone looks forward to is back in its ‘snow home’, rock-bands will perform on what is surely the most beautiful stage setting in the world – the Dolomites of Val Gardena, part of a UNESCO World Heritage.

The arrival of this beautiful time of year is traditionally celebrated in Schenna with a big Spring Festival run by the Voluntary Fire Brigade. All ages get together in the covered Raiffeisenplatz in the centre of the village to celebrate, dance and have a fun time. Alongside live music and all kinds of food and beverages, there is entertainment for the little ones, a vintage car blessing for the big ones and the traditional Sunday morning drink for everyone.

Respected international yoga teachers will be holding seminars again, gatherings and courses at the Kurhaus. The festival’s programme includes lessons, conferences, concerts and exhibitions. A festival for experts and beginners alike.

The open-air concert with the 'Böhmische' band at the Raiffeisen quare marks the culmination of the indoor event series 'Schenna in Bloom'.

On Easter Monday, the Haflinger gallop race marks the beginning of the new racing season at the Merano horse racing track. In the morning (at 10 a.m.) the magnificently decorated floats and music bands parade through the city center. Programme of events at the racecourse starts at 11 a.m. and the race starts at 1 p.m. An interesting programme of side events and culinary treats enhances the thrilling racing action. The International Three Borders Race in Schöneben is a traditional ski race held annually on Easter Monday. The race attracts around 500 participants from South Tyrol, Switzerland, Austria, and Germany. In 2025, it will take place on April 21 on the well-groomed Fraiten slope in the Schöneben-Haideralm ski area. The race is a giant slalom that is contested across various age categories, providing both professionals and amateur skiers the opportunity to showcase their skills. The event is accompanied by an award ceremony and live music, making it a memorable day for all involved

The Merano Flower Festival is a must for botany and garden lovers and a colourful experience for all those who love beauty. The Kurpromenade, with the Kurhaus as a backdrop and elegant architectural setting, creates the perfect ambience for this exclusive flower and ornamental plant exhibition. The offer ranges from plants, flowers, seeds, gardening tools to garden objects. The exhibitors have been selected by the journalist, book author and Grand Dame of the flora, Mimma Pallavicini, who has set the pace of horticulture and nature awareness in Italy for over 30 years.

Visitors can enjoy a colourful and busy market under the canopy on Raiffeisenplatz market square in Schenna. Producer from South Tyrol present the tasty specialities and healthy delicacies grown and made in their gardens, fields and cellars. Artisans from the South Tyrol region also display their original crafts at this market.

From 1st May to 5th May, the event Algund Gardenflair will once again take place on church square in Algund. At the Algund Gardenflair a variety of Mediterranean plants and trees such as palm trees, cacti, olive trees, various fruit and berry trees and herbs, as well as various works of art and all kinds of decoration for the garden will be offered. Exhibitors with different herbal products, such as teas, salts and spice blends, as well as specialties from the garden complete the program.
