It has now become a tradition, the Kastelruth farmers' wedding. This is a faithful re-enactment of a historical peasant wedding, as was customary at the foot of the Seiser Alm. Thanks to the involvement of the many participants, who proudly wear and present the old traditional costumes, the event has developed into one of the most magnificent traditional costume shows in South Tyrol. The highlight of the spectacle is the wedding procession from St. Valentin to the center of Kastelruth. Dressed in traditional costumes, the wedding party parades into the center of Kastelruth on magnificently decorated horse-drawn sleighs, taking visitors on a journey back in time to the 19th century. On Sunday, 19.01.25 > Wedding procession: 14:00 Start in St. Valentin 14:30 Arrival at the village square in Kastelruth Road Closure: - From 09:05 AM to 01:55 PM and from 03:05 PM to 03:55 PM, private vehicles are prohibited from driving in the section from Garni Schönblick to Kreuzer Wegscheid. Traffic will be diverted via Dolomitenstraße, Plattenstraße, and Telfen. Public buses, residents, and emergency vehicles are exempt from this rule. - From 02:05 PM to 02:55 PM, Krausenplatz and O.v.Wolkenstein Street, in the section from Garni Schönblick to Kreuzer Wegscheid, will be completely closed to all vehicle traffic. Emergency vehicles are exempt. Traffic will also be diverted via Dolomitenstraße, Plattenstraße, and Telfen. (The route may be changed at short notice due to weather conditions)

The women's giant slalom on the Erta has now established itself as a renowned race and can no longer be missed in the ski scene. The Erta slope is quite impressive - with a length of 1,325 m, a difference in altitude of 405 m and a maximum gradient of 61%, it demands the fullest skill and a large portion of courage from the participants.

The magic of the Granfondo Dobbiaco-Cortina, which is ready to take flight for its 48th edition on the weekend of 1 and 2 February 2025, does not stop. The Granfondo Dobbiaco-Cortina is one of the most traditional and popular long-distance cross-country ski races, capable with its enchanting tracks to immerse the fans of narrow skis in the magnificent environmental context of the UNESCO World Heritage Dolomites of Alta Pusteria and the Ampezzo peaks. The dates for the 2025 edition have been confirmed for the first weekend in February, with the event re-proposing the beloved format: on Saturday 1 February, classic technique enthusiasts will open the dances of the Dobbiaco-Cortina with the 42 km TC, while on Sunday 2 February, free technique lovers will be able to unleash their energy on the 35 km course. Moonlight Classic - cross country race by night Moonlight Classic Seiser Alm is a cross-country-skiing race on the Seiser Alm/Alpe di Siusi / South Tyrol / Italy. The distances are 15 and 30 km,the classic diagonal style only is allowed. We promote young talents, support us! For every registration, the Moonlight Classic organisation committee donates one Euro, which will be doubled by a sponsor, to the South Tyrolean Sports Aid in order to support the young athlethes.

The Gsiesertal Lauf is one of the best-known and best-loved ski marathons in the entire Alpine region. It is the second largest ski marathon in Italy, and is held on the 3rd weekend in February in the Val Casies Valley, South Tyrol (Italy). Ever since it was first held back in 1984, this race has never once been cancelled due to weather conditions. In 2021, the event was cancelled for reasons of force majeure (Corona). The event attracts a great deal of international skiers, with a good forty nations at the starting line every year and a great many World and Olympic Champions listed on the roll of honour. The race runs along two routes, one of 30 km and one of 42 km; the classic race is held on Saturday and the skating race on Sunday. The amateur “Just for Fun” group. with none of the stress of rankings and timekeeping, is also extremely popular, and the programme of events also includes the “Gsiesertal KIDS Run” on Saturday.
