    On Wednesday of each week you can ski from one alpine hut to the next and taste the Bestof togheter with a specialized sommelier. The tasting includes various hand made milk products from local dairy cooperatives. A ski instructor takes care of you and will bring you back safely.

Please remember, when skiing, the consumption of alcohol is permitted in moderate quantities, fines will be imposed if the alcohol level exceeds 0.5 per mille.     Asparagus season in Terlan

    n the villages of Vilpian, Siebeneich and Terlan asparagus has been grown for centuries. Today 15 asparagus growers in Terlan plant approx. 10 ha of high quality asparagus and sell it under the trade mark and hallmark of excellence Margarete. The elegant looking and extremely mild tasting Terlan asparagus is very popular with the connoisseurs of this white spring vegetable. In April and May several restaurants invite visitors to enjoy classic and creative asparagus dishes made with the valuable Margarete asparagus. Fresh asparagus with home-cured ham, boiled potatoes and Bozner sauce is one of the classics. The meal is accompanied by the fine, mineral containing Terlano “asparagus wine” (Sauvignon) from the Terlan winery.

    As the sun sets on the horizon, casting a breathtaking play of colors across the sky and the Dolomite mountains, a culinary experience of the highest class begins: The Chef's Open Air – Sunset Edition in the Eggental Valley. 6 Eggen Valley gourmet chefs, 4 old wood-fired ovens, 1 legendary mountain backdrop: the main ingredients for the Chefs’ Open Air as part of Eggental Valley’s Culturinarika. In the picturesque alpine meadows below the farm Stadlalm in Welschnofen, between the Rosengarten and the Latemar, between the grill and the fire pit, between creative and sophisticated creations, at this event you can look over the shoulders of the chefs as they prepare their delicious dishes.     A gourmet menu with a panoramic view! The Berglertafel mountaineers’ dinner is a five-course menu of typical dishes from Tiers served in a stunning setting. The venue is Proa, a mountain pasture with a view of the Rosengarten. There is arguably no other vantage point in Tiers am Rosengarten from where you can see the famous alpenglow of King Laurin’s famous kingdom ... and all this while enjoying a fabulous gourmet menu. The table is more than a 100 metre long and can seat 170 gourmets who – in the form of a row – can enjoy a fabulous meal and, at the same time, this unique view of the Rosengarten.

    If you hadn’t realised it before, when the first rays of sun timidly appear on the surrounding peaks you will see just how much it was worth getting up so early. A sunrise mountain tour on the Schlern mountain is a very special experience. A shuttle bus will take you to the Saltner Tschapit hut, where the ascent begins. Equipped with headlamps, you will arrive at Monte Petz (2,564 m) at around 6:50, in perfect time for the sunrise. After this natural spectacle, a well-earned breakfast awaits you at the Schlernhaus mountain refuge, also known as the “castle in the mountains”.     Gassltörggelen – culinary delights in the streets of Chiusa/Klausen

    When autumn begins in the southern Valle Isarco/Eisacktal, it starts also the so-called Törggele-season. Chiusa/Klausen celebrates the beginning of this ancient tradition with a big festival. From 19th September to 21st September, the artist's city Chiusa dedicates itself entirely to the traditions of the "Törggelen" and transforms itself into some kind of outdoor tavern. Through the streets of the town, gastronomic stands offer various South Tyrolean specialties, such as Knödel, Schlutzkrapfen, sausages with sauerkraut (fermented cabbage), doughnuts, Strauben and roasted chestnuts. A rich selection of white wines from the Valle Isarco completes the culinary offer. The festival has also a colourful entertainment program and a lot of popular music.
