With skilful hands and a little imagination, the children transform recycled paper into sparkling Christmas decorations – all in the spirit of origami art. The result is a collection of unique items that not only adorn the tree, but also demonstrate how creative sustainability can be.

On December 13th and 14th, Schlanders transforms into a sparkling Christmas village full of lights, joy, and pre-Christmas atmosphere. The annual Christmas market will also take place.

Hobby artists and craftsmen from Vinschgau, as well as local and Italian producers, will offer handmade gift ideas, traditional crafts, and local products.

A special highlight: "Spielvolk"!
The magically glowing figures on stilts bring Christmas magic directly to the streets of Schlanders with their imaginative performance, enchanting both young and old – an experience you shouldn’t miss!

In addition, many exciting activities await you:
a craft workshop at the base location, fairy tale storytelling at Damml, and a Christmas picture treasure hunt (starting December 9th), where you can collect your reward on Sunday from 3:00 to 5:00 p.m. at the village square.

Shops in Schlanders will also be open on Saturday and Sunday, both in the morning and afternoon – perfect for festive Christmas shopping accompanied by Christmas lights and sounds.

A charming nativity scene exhibition awaits you in the choir area of the pavilion. The participants of the nativity scene workshop proudly present their handcrafted creations, made with great attention to detail and bringing the Christmas story to life.

An atmospheric Advent awaits you at the festively decorated Kastelbell Castle! Look forward to the impressive marble exhibition by Grassl Bernhard with pictures and sculptures made of fine Göflan marble, music, readings, children's programmes, Advent devotions and a lovingly designed Advent market. Enjoy hot drinks, mulled wine and fragrant punch, as well as delicious delicacies and sweet pastries in the atmospheric castle courtyard. Experience the fascinating craft of traditional blacksmithing up close! With an anvil, hammer, and glowing iron, the blacksmith demonstrates how a simple piece of metal can be transformed into unique works of art – from horseshoes and candle holders to intricate decorations. Visitors are welcome to watch, ask questions, and even take part in the process – a captivating experience for both children and adults.

The LanAntiqua Festival, organised by the LanAntiqua Association, aims to give "early music", which is an inexhaustible source of inspiration, its deserved place in the cultural life of Lana. This music, which is not limited to any epoch, covers the periods from the Middle Ages to Romanticism. The festival's highest maxim is: original sound, i.e. the performance of the music in an appropriate sound setting on instruments of the period and with the knowledge gained from the historical performance practice handed down in treatises. Thanks to imposing venues such as the church Maria Himmelfahrt in Niederlana with its impressive altar by Hans Schnatterpeck and its special acoustics, top-class concert enjoyment is pre-programmed.

Advent is a time of anticipation, preparation, reflection, and quiet! We set out together to discover the Christmas story at various locations, starting from the church and ending at the Antonius Chapel. The KFS Stuls with Steffi looks forward to welcoming you. The Christmas stories will be told in German.

On 25.12.2025, at the height of the Christmas season, festive melodies will fill Pfelders/Plan once again. Starting from the Pisten Pub at 6 pm, the young musicians of the Bohemian music of Pfelderer/Plan will move through local inns and hotels. There, they will perform their rehearsed pieces – in the hall, at the bar, or in the lounge – creating a magical Christmas evening.

The award ceremony of the Snow Sculpture Competition will take place on Tuesday, 30 December 2025 at 4 p.m. on the municipal meadow. During the event, the best works selected by an expert jury will be honoured, and a People’s Choice Award will also be presented. The ceremony will be accompanied by the enchanting sound of alpine horns, adding an authentic alpine touch to this special occasion.

Experience the magic of the La Crusc Ski Tour amidst snowy landscapes and stunning snow sculptures. Students and former students of the Cademia Art School in Ortisei transform snow into art, inspired by the theme of the competition: the Ladins, the people of the Dolomites. Explore their creations and pick your favorite!

Like a snowball that expands as it rolls, in this workshop we will intertwine tributes and references to John Cage, Remy Charlip and Bruno Munari to let ourselves be enchanted by the evocative and narrative power of white and silence. Please come dressed in white, leave your colours at home (for one day) and bring a white object with you! An all-white ÓPLab awaits you, where silence will speak and you will imagine and see the story hidden beneath the blanket of snow.

In Ortisei you can’t just find carved traditional sculptures of wood, but in winter also some made of ice. In the week from 19.01.-25.01.2026, the Tourist Office Ortisei, in coorporation with local artists, will realize sculptures, that you can admire along the pedestrian area. To celebrate the 40th anniversary of the Alpine Ski World Cup in Alta Badia, a special open-air photo exhibition retraces the most memorable and iconic moments of the past four decades on the legendary Gran Risa slope. To mark this milestone, you’ll have the unique opportunity to join a guided ski tour with Roberto Erlacher – former World Cup athlete and the first local skier to reach the Gran Risa podium – accompanied by a professional ski instructor. Glide along the same runs that made history, uncover fascinating stories and anecdotes, and relive the emotions that have shaped this legendary slope. Art made of snow: 35th Dolomites Snow Festival enchants San Candido From 2 to 4 February 2026, the idyllic Dolomite village of San Candido will once again be transformed into an open-air art gallery made of snow. Celebrating its 35th anniversary this year, the Dolomites Snow Festival is not only one of the world's most traditional snow art competitions – it is also an official part of the cultural programme for the 2026 Winter Olympics in Milan Cortina. Ten international teams will travel to San Candido to create impressive sculptures from massive 3x3x3 metre blocks of snow. The works of art will be created in the open air, turning the centre of the Dolomite village into a fascinating venue for creative snow art. "The festival is not only an artistic highlight, but also an expression of international encounter and cultural diversity", emphasise the organisers. For 35 years, the Dolomites Snow Festival has attracted visitors from all over the world – now, with its anniversary year in 2026 and its connection to the Olympic Games, it will have a special stage. The finished sculptures will shine in all their glory in time for the opening ceremony of the Winter Games on 6 February 2026, delighting Olympic guests, locals and tourists alike. Exhibitors from Five Countries For the 47th time, the large international collectors’ fair, Lanaphil, will take place on Sunday, April 13, 2025, in Lana/South Tyrol. The event will run from 9:00 AM to 1:00 PM and will be a meeting point for collectors. About 50 exhibitors and many collectors will be present in the large hall, the foyer, and on the stage of the Raiffeisenhaus in Lana. Exhibitors and visitors from the following five countries will participate: Italy, Austria, Germany, Belgium, and the Czech Republic. Twice a Year Collectors’ Fair The founder and organizer, Albert Innerhofer, a passionate collector of old and historical postcards, first organized this collectors' meeting in Lana on October 22, 2000. Since then, the event has been very popular, taking place twice a year—once in April and once in October—in the Raiffeisenhaus of Lana, South Tyrol. Thanks to visits to many collectors' fairs both in Italy and abroad, many friendships and contacts with other collectors have developed, some of which have lasted for decades and are still ongoing today. At this fair, old historical postcards, stamps (including personalized stamps), coins, letters, pre-philatelic items, historical stock certificates, banknotes, military items, and other memorabilia such as books, engravings, old photos, and accessories will be available for trade, purchase, or sale. Under the motto "Water is life - light is art", an art trail is being created in Brixen's old town. The Brixen Water Light Festival takes place every two years in May. The idea for the festival was born in 2015 after the premiere of the light and music show at the Hofburg in Brixen. The first edition of the festival was held in May 2017. Art, light and water and a head full of dreams and thoughts. Being free and letting oneself fall, floating on the surface of the water, submerging, and carrying the light within.
