For four days from 18th to 21st September, the motto in South Tyrol is: go out and collect waste together. Participate with your team or alone, clean up and enjoy the nature at the South Tyrol CleanUp Days. The Ahrntal valley invites you to actively participate. Make your mark too by joining in.

A gentle practice for body and mind – open to all levels.

Petra invites you to explore the balance between strength and ease through mindful movement and conscious breath. As a certified RYT500 teacher from Sand in Taufers, with extensive training in India, Petra brings her deep connection to yoga into each class. Her guidance is clear and caring, allowing for a safe and personal practice. She holds space with sensitivity, so each student can follow what the heart needs in that moment. Small impulses inspire beyond the mat – honest, sometimes bold, sometimes gentle, but always heartfelt.

The special exhibition to mark the 800th anniversary of the Castle of Taufers focuses on a medieval and social theme: the relationship between the nobility and the peasantry. The exhibition, curated by Marie Rubner and the Südtiroler Burgeninstitut, can be seen at Castle Taufers from April 18 to November 2, 2025.
The beginning of the 16th century was characterized by social, economic and religious changes. Serfdom severely restricted the rights of the lower classes and forced them to pay additional taxes to aristocratic feudal lords and the clergy. In 1525, the call for equality, justice and freedom grew louder and louder. Discontent soon turned violent and the Peasants’ War broke out like wildfire in Central Europe. 2025 marks the 500th anniversary of the beginning of the peasant revolt. To mark the anniversary, the exhibition “500 Years: Peasants‘ War - Striving for Freedom” allows visitors to immerse themselves in the history of this period.

Climb aboard the mine railway and let yourself be carried leisurely into the mountain. Once you arrive in the Climate gallery area, an atmosphere of tranquility awaits you: gentle sounds and soothing music accompany your relaxation. Wrapped in warm blankets and with a hot water bottle, you can lean back while a herbal tea warms you from the inside. Take time to breathe in and savour the pure, cool tunnel air.

The special microclimate underground - cool, moist and pure - supports your airways and helps you to switch off completely. Even chronic respiratory illnesses such as asthma, bronchitis or sinus problems can be noticeably alleviated.

Take a breather - in the heart of the mountain. Warm clothes are required and sturdy footwear for the entry into the gallery is recommended. Helmets and raincoats are provided by the Museum. The tour begins in the grain store of Steinhaus, the former warehouse of the mining industry. Afterwards, our guides will lead you through the historic centre of Steinhaus, a unique sight in South Tyrol that was created thanks to the mining industry. The striking red houses, such as the factor house, the Gassegg residence and the church Maria Loreto, as well as the smelting hut are explained. A walk through the centuries old history of the "Ahrner Handel".

Looking for a day outdoors that’s both meaningful and fun? Join us on Saturday, September 20, 2025 (World CleanUP Day) for the CleanUP Hike in the Ahrntal – with time in nature, inspiring conversations, and a shared goal: leaving a positive impact.

We’ll start together in Luttach and follow the Ahr River downstream on a relaxed 6 km trail. Along the way, local guide Marco Zema will share fascinating insights into the unique nature of South Tyrol and the river’s ecosystem. There's time for connection, reflection, and of course – collecting litter along the route.

Our destination is the beautifully located Goasroscht in Sand in Taufers, where we’ll wind down with a small snack (thanks to the Zukunft Ahrntal Consortium) and come together for the CleanUP Workshop by PATRON. We'll take a closer look at what we collected and discuss what each of us can do – and why it matters to take action. We’ll then screen Treelude – an experimental short film exploring the connection between people and nature, filmed right here in the Ahrntal. Its soundtrack is composed entirely of natural sounds recorded on location. The film was created by athlete and nature photographer/filmmaker Lukas Schäfer, directed by Marco Zingaretti, and initiated by Linda Schwarz, Executive Producer of POW Italy. Produced by Soul Film Production in collaboration with OL Music Studio.

Hang Gliding Season Finale!

Join us to conclude the hang gliding season. On 20.09.2025, we cordially invite you to our traditional final flight. After the spectacular flights, a cozy get-together awaits you at the landing site with food and drinks for a voluntary donation.

A long tradition, specially in Mühlen: the fair day festival! A local club organizes a typical feast with roast chicken, delicious sausages, pretzels, beer and wine and local music. The highlight is the “Kirchtagmichl” (puppet) attached to a tree trunk drawn in a vertical position. It takes several hours! During the night, the Kirchtagmichl must be guarded. Because the boys of the neighboring village are keen to steal it ... Immerse yourself in the fascinating world of sacred art with Doris Kirchler during a guided tour of the small Parish Museum. In a carefully curated exhibition, you will find around 50 impressive works, including statues and paintings, reflecting 700 years of regional history. These artworks invite you to explore not only their religious significance but also the socio-political and artistic changes over the centuries.

The Parish Museum is located in the historic Gothic granary, a charming building from 1559, situated in the northeast corner of the parish garden. Since 1984, this lovingly restored granary has served as the Parish Museum, providing a unique setting for the exhibition.

With the cablecar Speikboden and the chairlift Sonnklar it goes up to 2.400m, right in the middle of the Ahrntal valley mountains. Once arrived at the top, you have the opportunity to hike to the Sonnklar Cross, which is 10 minutes away, or you can hike tot he Speikboden cross, which is easily reached on foot in 30 minutes. Attention: If the weather is bad, the event will be posponed to another day!
