In Niederolang, the traditional "Pfarrlinga Kirschta" will be celebrated on July 5th and 6th – a festival full of tradition, music, dance, and conviviality. The festivities begin on the evening of July 5th with a lively atmosphere, delicious food, and captivating music. On the morning of July 6th, a solemn procession passes through the village, followed in the afternoon by a festive parade of participating brass bands, creating a vibrant and melodic highlight. A must-see event for everyone who wants to experience the rich traditions of Niederolang up close.

A pleasant summer evening dedicated to regional quality and traditional craftsmanship: At the evening market in the heart of St. Lorenzen, you’ll find lovingly made farm products and creative artisan goods. More than 40 exhibitors showcase a wide variety of items – from natural cosmetics and jewelry to decorations and woodwork. And for food lovers: fresh vegetables, juices, speck, cheese, wine, and much more. A special highlight: The local farmers' wives prepare traditional "Tirtlan" and "Strauben" fresh on site – a true South Tyrolean treat!

The historical escape routes of Michael Gaismair and his army in 1525/26 as well as more recent escape routes from the 20th/21st century, which are shown in the exhibition in the form of pictures and photographs, are geographically divided into two presentation locations to the west and east of Bruneck: at LUMEN. Museum of Mountain Photography at Kronplatz focuses on Graubünden/Gadertal/Padua and Karwendel/Pyrenees/Western Alps, while at Museum Burg Heinfels the focus is on Zillertal/Salzburg/East Tyrol and Krimmler Tauern/Strandzha Mountains/Kurdistan. The wolf is back! - A human exhibition The return of the wolf raises old and new questions: How much wilderness can the densely populated alpine region tolerate? What does this mean for our relationship with the wolf? How does the predator's presence change our landscapes, herds, and ourselves? The current wolf debate shows that it is not just about the wolf. This exhibition, curated by the Alpine Museum of Switzerland, looks at people and their relationship with the wolf. It shows the situation up to 2017, with people who deal with this animal by profession recounting their experiences. Many parallels can be drawn between Switzerland, which is characterized by an alpine landscape, and South Tyrol. In comparison, there are data from South Tyrol and the latest information on the wolf situation from the Office for Wildlife Management in South Tyrol.

His works can be found in numerous international public and private collections.

In the second half of the 19th century, running a business, practicing a skilled trade, or, least of all, being an alpinist was far from easy if you were a woman. The period between 1865 and 1914 saw numerous wives of photographers active in mountaineering and mountain photography, and it would not be possible to include them all in this exhibition. Instead, four women photographers were selected to represent the group in this exhibition. Among them, Elizabeth Whitshed Main takes a special place as an outstanding photographer, alpinist, and the founder of winter alpinism in general and winter tourism in the region of Engadin, Switzerland, in particular. The exhibition also features works by Gertrude Bell, Eleonore Noll-Hasenclever, and Una Cameron, three distinguished alpinists, travel journalists, and women’s rights activists. The life and work of these four pioneers of mountain photography are exhibited in rotation. Discover the Via Artis on Kronplatz every Monday together with a hiking guide – the highest open-air art gallery in the world at 2,275 meters above sea level. The 6-kilometer circular trail showcases six artworks by local artists, crafted from damaged wood resulting from storm and snow pressure in 2018 and 2019. An exciting, informative and entertaining circular hike in a culturally rich settlement area rich with a visit to the rustic farm Ausluger (12th century) and its charming farm shop where you can buy the farm's own products which are produced under the seal of quality "Roter Hahn" from 100% regional production. In a short bus ride we sustainably reach the beautiful market town of St. Lorenzen/San Lorenzo (810m/starting point). On partly unmarked unknown paths, walking through meadows and forests, accompanied by beautiful views of Brunneck/Brunico and the Rieserferner group, we cross the Onsberg (939m) and reach the farm "Ausluger", including a visit to the rustic farm, located in the idyllic village of St. Martin/San Martino. After our stay we pass the village characterized by the striking Michelsburg and farms and reach the western end of St. Lorenzen/San Lorenzo. In the face of the imposing Sonnenburg/Castelbadia we hike to the beautiful village of the same name (830 m). An exciting traverse under the Sonnenburger Kopf (937) through the "Hazelnut Tunnel" awaits us. With a magnificent view over the valley widening of St. Lorenzen/San Lorenzo we reach the last section of the hike. This leads us along the rushing Rienz back to the starting point. Interested in visiting one of our characteristic farmsteads? The Moarhof farm in the hamlet of Obergoste invites you to take a tour of its barn, stables, petting zoo and dairy farm. Following the tour, you can savour some farm products such as milk, butter, yoghurt, cheese, smoked sausages called „Kaminwurzen“ and bacon.
