In the village center of Völs there is a weekly market every Wednesday from 08.00 a.m. - 12.00 noon.

Get up bright and early to enjoy the peace of morning while out hiking. What could be better than enjoying the peace and quiet of morning in the mountains? During the guided hike from Tiers to the Völsegg Peak, a breathtaking view of the Dolomites awaits you. In the family-run Tschafon mountain refuge between the the imposing Schlern Massif and the legendary Rosengarten Massif you will enjoy a special mountaineer breakfast featuring quality products from South Tyrol. In the late morning the hiking guide will take you back to Tiers. If you want to stay a little longer, you can relax on a blanket in the extensive meadow. On the guided dog walk with dog trainer Erika, around Fiè allo Sciliar, humans and dogs not only experience the beautiful nature, but also receive valuable tips on how to walk on a lead, how to read the dog's body language and the correct behaviour when encountering game, cows and other dogs. The small but fine School Museum at Tagusens shows visitors and interested people the life of the pupils between the years 1933 and 1993 and is a unique collection of furnishings and teaching documents that have been preserved on site. The school life in Tagusens did not mean an encounter with the "foreign" world for the "ABC-Shooters". The children in the lonely place knew each other, only the teacher changed year after year. Furnishings and teaching objects were less worn than elsewhere and thus remained intact. Nostalgic feelings and memories are certainly not absent here and seduce to a bygone era. The school museum is open every Wednesday and Friday from 14:00-18:00 and every Sunday from 10:00-18:00. You do not need to register for a visit.

Special exhibition: CALDERA, living with the supervolcano 280 million years ago, a supervolcano was located in the center of what is now the Trentino-South Tyrol region. Powerful porphyry layers still bear witness to its activity, while the rock formations in between tell of long periods of dormancy during which plants and animals settled. Fossils, animal models, and a simulation of the supervolcano make this distant world tangible in the Nature Park Visitor Center. Free admission; reservation not necessary.

For the 48th time, October in Völs am Schlern means it's time for "Kuchlkastl". With this culinary initiative, which is known far beyond the borders of South Tyrol, the dedicated restaurateurs of Völs have made a name for themselves among gourmets and connoisseurs. At "Kuchlkastl", the menu features down-to-earth fare. The dishes are based on old recipes, with chefs taking on the challenge of adapting them to modern tastes while emphasising their origins with wonderful ingredients. In autumn in Völs, meals are served with special care – a must for gourmets!

This tour offers breathtaking views, alpine charm, and authentic South Tyrolean flair - perfect for anyone wanting to experience the Dolomites at their best. Tour Description: We take bus line 176 from Tiers to Ums. Starting in Ums, we follow trail no. 4, which leads us through an enchanting forest and across the Schlernbach stream. The ascent is steep, but together we’ll make it—and the view from Tschafonleger and the Tschafon Hut at 1,728 meters rewards our effort. We’ll take a short detour to the Völseggspitze before returning via trail no. 4A. The descent leads past the picturesque Wuhnleger to Weißlahnbad, where we’ll end the hike together. "Farmer's Market" The village square of Kastelruth is blooming with peasant life. The farmer's market is an attractive way to get a mix of regional products and delicacies. The market is a perfect opportunity to spend the morning strolling through the alleys and buying local produce. Here you can find everything from fresh vegetables & fruits, bacon, cheese to various organic herbal products. Many stalls sell locally made products that are unique and distinctive to the region.

The guided hike with Günther leads through old farmsteads and mountain restaurants, through sloping vineyards, chestnut groves and orchards. You will have the possibility to learn more about typical farms and the winegrowing during a wine tasting at the Prackfoler farm. The lunch with traditional dishes at the Innerperskoler farm inn is not only a culinary pleasure, it helps you to recharge your batteries for the hike back to the starting point. Wine tasting: the three wines from the Prackfolerhof will be tasted. Children receive juices for free. Lunch: The price includes appetizer, main course ("Schlachtplatte"), chestnuts (if available) and sweet "Krapfen". Drinks have to be paid extra.

Stephan Pramstrahler, head of the house, will accompany us through the exhibition. There will be time for creative exchange over an aperitif afterwards. This hike takes us into the dreamlike landscape at the foot of the Rosengarten. With lush alpine meadows, idyllic huts, and magnificent panoramas, it promises a day filled with nature, relaxation, and unforgettable impressions. Perfect for enjoying the beauty of the Dolomites to the fullest. Tour Description: We start our tour with a ride on the Tiers cable car to the Frommer Alm. From there, our hike begins with a short stretch toward the Niger Pass, but we soon switch to the trail leading to Messnerjoch without detouring to the hut itself. Instead, we stay on the main path and continue toward Baumann Schwaige, soaking in the idyllic scenery along the way. The well-marked trail takes us through beautiful landscapes to Baumann Schwaige and on to Tumml. The paths repeatedly offer spectacular views of the Rosengarten. After a gentle ascent, we reach the Angelwiesen, where expansive alpine meadows and a stunning panorama await us. From there, the path descends to the Plafötsch Alm, where we take a well-deserved break. This cozy hut offers delicious South Tyrolean specialties and a fantastic view—the perfect spot to recharge for the remainder of the descent. The final section of the trail leads us through forests and alpine meadows down to St. Zyprian, our starting point.
