The South Tyrol Museum of Nature is organising a one-hour guided tour on Friday, 18 October, during which participants will find out what happens in the museum at night once the doors are closed and the lights are off. Secrets of nocturnal animals will also be revealed. Game Ground, the videogame festival that transforms the city of Bolzano into Italy's gaming capital from 12 to 20 October, is back. More than 100 playable retrogaming and new-gen stations in the various locations in the city centre and in the main hubs, live events involving artists and creators, panels and conferences. An innovative, interactive and totally free event that aims to break down stereotypes about video games, reconciling fun and pop culture and celebrating the potential of a medium that has changed the way we tell stories, play games and entertain. Millions of visitors, 112 special exhibitions and thousands of events, including lectures, matinees, workshops and museum nights. This is the balance of the South Tyrol Nature Museum since its opening on September 14, 1999 until today. On that Tuesday 25 years ago, the museum's permanent exhibition opened its doors. To celebrate this long journey together, the Nature Museum is presenting its own temporary exhibition full of memories with objects from old exhibitions and numerous photos that make it possible to relive many of the past events. “Above all, it is an opportunity to leave your own impressions, memories of the museum, wishes and suggestions so that the Natural History Museum becomes an even more lively, inspiring and inviting place,” says museum director David Gruber. The exhibition runs from next Saturday, September 14th to October 6th. On Friday, September 20th, the museum will also celebrate its 25th anniversary from 5 p.m. to midnight with live music, workshops for children, storytelling and short tours with stargazing in the inflatable planetarium. On the occasion of the Long Night of the Bolzano Museums on Friday, October 4th, the exhibition - as well as the entire museum - can be viewed free of charge from 4 p.m. to 1 a.m.

To start with you will be given an insight into their seasonal work processes and learn first-hand how the grape makes its way into the bottle. After a wine cellar tour, taste a choice of selected wines with the owner of the winery Schmid Oberrautner. The tours last for approximately 2 - 2,5 hours.

We would like to introduce you in the historical wine-production area Alto Adige and take you behind the scenes of Kellerei Bozen with its must-see architectural highlights. You'll visit one of our vineyards (weather permitting) before being taken through the winery to see the wine-making process. The tour includes the tasting of 7 wines, some samples of our very best award-winning wines of the available vintage. Wines availability might change during the year. What exactly is sustainable winegrowing? During a guided tour through the small vineyard, you learn about the ecology of vineyards. You gain an insight into how wine is produced sustainably, from planting and managing the vineyard to processing the grapes and reaching the final quality of the wine. The guided tour finishes with a wine tasting of Messnerhof wines. Duration: about 1.5 hours. Minimum number of participants: 6.

The "Palazzo Alti Comandi" guided tours at the Alpine Troops Headquarters located at Piazza IV Novembre, 6 are back. The tour will show the interior of the building built in the years 1934-35 and the history of the IV Army Corps (IV Corpo d'Armata), which later became Alpine Troops Headquarters (Comando Truppe Alpine). The guided tour is in Italian and completely free of charge for a duration of 45 minutes. Reservations must be made by 11 a.m. on the Friday prior to the visit.
