The hiking tour “GEOTour Bletterbach Canyon” starts from the Visitor Centre in Aldino and leads to the “Taubenleck” and finally to the waterfall in the so called “Butterloch”. This tour is a journey through the “geological Middle Ages”.

The panoramic tour starts at the Passo Oclini/Jochgrimm and leads to an amzing viewpoint on the border of the Bletterbach Canyon. From here we can admire the South Tyrolean mountains and the different strata of the canyon.

A long walk through beautiful forests leads us from Passo Oclini to one of the oldest and most important sanctuaries in South Tyrol: the Pietralba Sanctuary (or Maria Weißenstein).

A short hike to the symbol of Laives/Leifers with panoramic sight on Laives/Leifers and the Bassa Atesina/Unterland valley.

 

A comfortable and easy path suitable just for everyone allows you to reach one of the gastronomic jewels of Passo Oclini: the Malga Ora.
The malga offers a small playground where children can have fun and pet the tender alpacas in the corral next door.
It´s certainly recommended to stop and savor the carefully prepared traditional dishes, from a platter of local cold cuts and sausages to a plate of canederli to the traditional South Tyrolean pancake: strauben.

Beautiful, little frequented, hike through the forests of Passo Oclini. The destination is the Passo Cugola with its self-catering hut.

Our destination is the Neuhütt - Capanna Nuova, which can be reached in about an hour of leisurely walking. The path is flat, among wide meadows and in the midst of larch forests. While walking pleasant the sound of cowbells of grazing cows.

The Stone Men (Stoanernen Mandlen) - Moonlight and Satan’s milk - the true story of the Val Sarentino witch ‘Pachlerzottl’

Barb (Barbara) Stöckele married Kunz Pachler and moved to the Bachlerhof from her home on the opposite side of the valley. The cheerful young farmer’s wife brought new prosperity to the farmstead, though Katl Hiller, the former housekeeper at the Bachlerhof grew suspicious of her. Several years later, after no heir to the farm had been born, Katl took Kunz aside, asking if he hadn’t noticed that Barb was involved in black magic and saying that God would never entrust her with a child. Kunz became increasingly estranged from Barb, who grew lonely and depressed realising she had been abandoned. One day Katl observed her as she splashed around in a water trough, deep in thought. Straight afterwards a devastating thunder storm broke out over the Sarntal valley and all Windlahn blamed it on Barb, saying she had brought it about by magic. Barb soon realised that she had been branded a witch, and that every kind of misfortune was attributed to her: the death of a child, just as much as a cornfield flattened by hail. Barb became a recluse and hid at her mother’s for weeks on end. After her mother’s death she went to ruin, wandering from place to place, homeless, in rags, ‘zottelig’ (unkempt, with matted hair). The accusations of witchcraft accumulated and she, the ‘Pachlerzottl’ was imprisoned in Schloss Reineck castle. Under torture she admitted to making mice out of coal, to putting a spell on milk, to riding on a broomstick to the Steinernen Mandlen at Auen, to masticating children and to copulating with the devil. She was tried in the Kellerburg in 1540 and the trial records are still preserved complete. ‘Pachlerzottl’ was condemned to death for witchcraft and burnt alive at the ‘Galgenangerle’ (gallows corner) at the northern end of Sarnthein where the Öttenbach stream runs into the Talfer.

The Pachlerzottl tragedy is re-enacted as a play on the first three Thursday evenings in July, with the original Steinernen Mandeln as a backdrop.

The Malga Möltner Kasner, which lies under the Stoanerne Mandlen, is a hut surrounded by a beautiful landscape.

Moderately difficult hike for experienced hikers from Aldein/Lerch to the Weißhorn and then to the Jochgrimm.

It is the higher of the two peaks of Oclini, and so the climb is a tad more strenuous than the Corno Bianco, but the views from the summit certainly make up for it.
When you reach the summit, which is a very wide peak with a large cross, you can look out over the slope that overlooks Val di Fiemme. On the southern horizon is an exceptional view of the Lagorai chain and far to the southeast, of the Pale di S. Martino group. The one proposed here does not require special athletic and mountaineering training but steady pace and attention (the first section is rocky and some sections are a bit exposed).

The hike starts by the car park Kampidell. You pass the alpine hut Jenesier Jöchl and reach finally the Putzerkreuz. The Putzerkreuz is already located on the side of Val Sarentino. Here you have the possibility to stop, to have a meal and to visit the small chapel near the hut. The hike runs largely on a slightly wide path located between wide meadows, which are lined with larch trees

Beautiful circular hike to the Weißhorn mountain with views of the Bletterbachschlucht gorge and the Lahnerwiesen meadows.

Sarner Scharte, Sarentino/Sarnthein’s local mountain, is a ridge which extends from the frazione of Ponticino/Bundschen to the frazione of San Martino/Reinswald.

Starting from the village center of Avigna, follow the indication of path no.27 „Putenkreuz“
towards maso „Rohrwieserhof“ and maso „Perkmannshof“. From there, follow
the indication of „Rundweg Schwarzegg“ and keep always to the right towards Avigna.

The so called "Knottnkino" on the rock Rotsteinkogel is a special view point. Enjoy a wonderful panorama on the Rotsteinkogel. From here you have a view on the Texel, the Penegal and you can see even the Weißhorn. The Etsch-Valley spreads under the rock. There are 30 armchairs made of steel and chestnut wood. If you sit down, you can enjoy nature as a whole, as if you where sitting in a cinema.

A beautiful circular hike that demands a certain amount of fitness, but offers refreshment stops and fantastic viewpoints.

A leisurely walk through the apple orchards around Laives/Leifers.

The ascent to the summit is an ideal trip for young and old.
A wonderful experience for families with children who want to experience the thrill of reaching a summit perhaps for the first time.
The path, which in the first part is very evident among the pasture, starts near the Berghotel Jochgrimm, just below the Hotel Schwarzhorn.
In about an hour´s ascent you reach the summit of Corno Bianco, from where you enjoy a remarkable panorama: the Latemar, Catinaccio and Sciliar frame the valleys below where the Pietralba Sanctuary stands out.
Impressive and spectacular is the erosion gorge, formed by the Bletterbach, which cuts across the entire north side of the mountain, laying bare the entire geological succession dating back 18,000 years.
For the return, take the same path as the way out, following the indications for Oclini.
Corno Bianco is the ideal peak to admire the sunrise or sunset over the Dolomites.
It will be an unforgettable experience!

With this interesting loop trail, you can discover the Bletterbach gorge from one of its most spectacular viewpoints and then continue to the summit of the Corno Bianco, from which you can admire an enchanting panorama over the entire Adige Valley and the sorrounding peaks.

Hiking tour from Pineta/Steinmannwald to the Rechtebner inn in La Costa/Seit.

The circular hiking trail to the Schwarzhorn promises a panoramic view of the ZillertalAlps on the Alpenhauptkamm, the Rosengarten and Latemargroups, the Pelmo and Palagruppe and the Lagoraigpeaks. The Gardamountains, the Ortler Group and the Brenta Group also come into view.

Following the road nr. 4, next to the Hotel Oclini, we reach the Kugeljoch. From there we go downwards to the Kugel-alp, which isn`t farmed. A crushed rock road leads us to othe sheds, past the Gurndin alp and back to the Hotel Oclini.

Baita Pozzi is an ideal family destination. It can be reached by an easy walk through the woods bypassing Corno Nero, which leads to an extremely scenic natural saddle, overlooking the Lagorai chain and the Fiemme Valley.
The Baita, surrounded by meadows, is ideal for children, who can play freely, and for adults, the perfect place to have a barbecue with friends.
The hut is available to everyone, for cooking and for spending the night there; this is precisely why the utmost respect and care of the environment is essential.
Tools are all available inside the lodge; however, it is recommended that you bring saucers and cutlery from home.

Walk across the Franzenberg mountain passing the chapel of St. Peter and across the Breitenberg mountain along the high-altitude trail of Laives/Leifers.
