"A well-rounded experience" - preparing original South Tyrolean dumplings Experience a guided panoramic hike over the Platschjoch to the rustic Ungererhof in Schluppes, where we prepare original South Tyrolean dumplings together. Walter will show you the right way to shape the dumplings. Afterwards, we will taste the delicious traditional dish together. Farmers' market in Bruneck! Eleven farmers sell every Friday their own products: vegetables, fruits, jams, bread, eggs, meat and cheese in the center of Bruneck

Every Friday, from the beginning of April to mid-October, farmers from the Sterzing area offer their local quality products at the farmers' market. At the market in the town square of Sterzing, people meet for the weekly purchase of local South Tyrolean products or for a "glass of wine". The varied offer ranges from traditional bacon and “Kaminwurzen” , fresh and smoked trout, cheese and yogurt specialties, homemade bread, organic wines, herbs, honey, eggs to homemade juices and fresh vegetables. Locals and guests have appreciated the market for over a decade now. Tip: Do not miss the delicious “Krapfen and Tirtler” of the Wipptaler farmers' wives!

Since the time of the Romans, wine has been cultivated on the sunny slopes of the Wipptal. Today, 2000 years later, there are once again some pioneers who utilize the milder climate for viticulture. Peter Faistnauer is one of them; he operates the first winery in the Wipptal. Since 2015, he has been cultivating the white wine variety Solaris. After visiting the vineyards, the special wine will be tasted in the old barn. Dogs are not allowed. It is not possible to navigate the paths with a stroller, and the entire tour is not wheelchair accessible. Gala, Kanzi, Fuji, Red Delicious – these illustrious names represent four of the total of 18 varieties of apple that flourish in the sunny orchards tended by South Tyrol's farmers. Crisp, juicy and fresh, famed as a vitamin bomb and popular well beyond the borders of the region, there is plenty to learn about the South Tyrolean apple. Did you know, for example, that the apple originally came from Kazakhstan? Or that one in three of all organic apples harvested in Europe comes from South Tyrol? Together with apple grower Christine we set out on a journey of discovery through the local apple orchards. Our charming and knowledgeable guide shares plenty of interesting and curious facts about the apple growing industry in South Tyrol, about organic and integrated cultivation, the different varieties, the ingenious methods of naturally-derived plant protection and the protected designation of geographical origin. During the subsequent tasting of the different apple varieties participants can enjoy talking shop about the apples’ flavours and textures and their personal favourites. Tasting with musical entertainment at Eurospar Hopfgartner

The Aldeiner Almabtrieb takes place on 14.09.2024. The festival begins at 10.00 am with a morning pint on the Messner Wiese. Entertainment is provided by the ‘Carreras’, the ‘Steinegger Böhmische’, ‘Die Voldeiner Goaslschnöller’ and the ‘Alpler Plattlergitschn’. There is also a children's corner, children's flea market, hay bouncy castle and lots of local culinary delights. The festival takes place in all weathers.

Stelvio, the small, charming village on the steep hillside, with its winding stone houses, narrow alleys, and stairways, invites you to experience craftsmanship up close. Many small studios and private workshops open their doors for one day only, providing insights into both traditional and contemporary craftsmanship. Exquisite products will be available for purchase. Throughout the village, visitors can watch artisans at work. Additionally, a carefully selected supporting program places craftsmanship at the center: a wide culinary offering, musical contributions, a creative workshop for children, and a show kitchen.
