Several prestigious concerts, combined with the excellent wines of this territory, will be held in the ancient walls of the towns that unfold on one of Europe's most beautiful wine routes. From the 20th of October to the 5th of November 2023 local wines, the stories behind their production and great music will be the protagonists of the first edition of WineSounds on the Alto Adige Wine Road. The entrance includes the musical performance and the chance to taste and enjoy a beautiful selection of wines in unique locations. An initiative of the Alto Adige Wine Road in collaboration with the Tourist Associations of Nalles, Andriano, Terlano, Appiano, Caldaro al Lago, Termeno, Bassa Atesina, Castelfeder and Laives Bronzolo Vadena as well as the Tourist Board Bolzano. The historic winery of Elena Walch will open its doors to the concert attendees. After the final notes of the woodwind quintet "LIGNUN" have faded away in the historically significant courtyard, with a view of the picturesque mountain scenery, we will take you on a journey of discovery through our wine cellars. Today, in the former Jesuit monastery, using both traditional and avant-garde techniques, Elena Walch creates her multi-award-winning wines. The charming contrast between intricately carved wooden barrels and the highly modern fermentation cellar with its architectural highlights perfectly reflects our identity and versatility. Following the concert, there will be a tasting of four selected wines in the estate's park, where you'll have the opportunity to experience it for yourself! Wine and first-class music are the protagonists of the second edition of the concert series WineSounds on the Alto Adige Wine Road. Experience a guided tour of the historic castle Payersberg, followed by a first-class concert with the band TriOlé. After the sounds of the music have faded after about an hour, the focus is on enjoyment. A wine tasting of a special kind in the midst of the vineyards of Ritten and Bolzano. The winegrowers of Ritten and Rentsch invite you to enjoy their wine along the REBE wine trail. At five selected stations, the winegrowers offer for tasting those wines that grow in the respective altitudes along the wine steps between Rentsch and Signat. From the rich Lagrein to the aromatic Gewürztraminer to the spicy Kerner: a whole 13 grape varieties ripen on the 3.5 km long REBE wine hiking trail! The Tyrolean State Youth Orchestra has been an important ensemble for young professional musicians in Tyrol since 2004. Every year, there are on average two different projects with several major concerts in cooperation with various concert organisers and festivals at home and abroad. The ljo is an initiative of the province of Tyrol, now continued in co-operation with the Tyrolean String Music Association and consists of outstanding music pupils and music students aged 13 to 26. The orchestra works together with a team of teachers and changing guest conductors and is organised by the Tyrolean String Music Association under the direction of Dr. Sonja Melzer. 9 November is a fateful date for all those who are aware of history. With our music, we seek roots and connections to Jewish culture. For with the destruction of the synagogues on 9 November 1938, the beginning of persecution in Germany and the subsequent Holocaust, a large part of European Jewish culture was wiped out. Musically united are well-known jazz musicians and klezmer musicians who combine the elements of jazz and klezmer. Openness is one of the characteristics of both musical styles and also of our region, which has always allowed cultures and languages to communicate with each other. The songs in Yiddish are reminiscent of pain and resistance, but also of tenderness and care. The spirituality and intimacy of this music evokes the miracle of survival on the one hand and points to the depth and beauty of Jewish culture and music on the other.
