The cattle return from the alpine pastures to the valley and Sesto celebrates! The cows in particular are elaborately decorated on their return from the alpine pastures: the leading cow and the cows that follow her wear wreaths decorated with sayings, images of saints and elaborate embroidery. The Almabtrieb is combined with a festival to celebrate the safe return of the animals.

On the tarmac cycle path we ride to San Candido and there we turn towards Sesto. From the large car park we ascend to the Rifugio Tre Scarperi. We hardly notice that we have overcome a height difference of 300 metres: the wonderful nature and the mountains make us forget all the suffering. After a well-deserved stop at the refuge, we have two options to return to the valley: either we descend along the same road on which we ascended or we take a path and experience some new emotions. Visit the annual market in the village centre of Toblach!

The walk leads along the forest path at the Haunold/Baranci valley station in direction of Toblach/Dobbiaco to the source of the Drau/Drava river. From there past the shooting range to the Baumonna farm, where the new bunker museum will be visited. Start from the Bike Academy Sextner Dolomiten in the direction of Sexten, then slightly uphill to Mitterberg and on to Nemes Alm. After about 20 minutes we reach a plateau called "Saumad" (1.750 ) where we turn left to the Klammbach-Alm (1.940). Also here we are challenged again to enjoy after approx. 30 minutes at the Almhütte the dreamlike view of the Three Peaks. Arrived at the Klammbach hut, we take a break and enjoy the "Schmankerln" by Hannes, then when Leon briefly unpacks his accordion then the mood is perfect. Passing the "Hennstoll" and via the Sesto circular trail we return to Sesto to the Bike Academy Sesto Dolomites.

A real experience: Sunrise at the top of Monte Elmo! Discover how the sun arises from behind the mountains and illuminates the landscape. From the summit of Monte Elmo you can enjoy this experience of nature with 360° panoramic views of the Dolomites and the Central Alps.

We start with the public bus to Vierschach/Versciaco and go with the cable car to the Helm/Monte Elmo (2.050 m). Here the hike begins via the Hüttensteig path nr. 20 to the Rif. Sillianer Hütte hut. After a refreshment (hut or self-catering), the way back is via the old Helmhaus at 2.434 m. With a 360° view between the Italian-Austrian border, we learn a lot about the exciting history of this area. Descent via hiking trail nr. 4a and the Rif. Our adventure todays takes us to: Valle di Casies As far as Monguelfo we ride for about ten kilometres along the comfortable cycle path slightly downhill and a few short uphill stretches. In Monguelfo we leave the main valley and turn into the extended Casies valley. In an exciting mixture of forest roads and simple paths we follow the Casies stream. After about ten kilometres the most challenging part of our tour begins: on a wide gravel road we overcome about 350 metres in altitude difference - then we climb a short section of the famous "Dolomiti Superbike". Before the fast descent into the main valley we enjoy the view of Toblach and the Landro Valley from Monte Rota. Knödel are not just dumplings, they are the ultimate South Tyrolean dish and no one knows this better than Franzi. At the Lechnerhof she creates them with the guests and shows them what must be included in the traditional food and dispels many culinary legends. Spinach, cheese, beetroot - different types of dumplings are prepared and, of course, tasted together. And the recipes? You can take them with you to become the king of the kitchen back home.

We go by taxi to the Rif. Auronzo Hütte hut (2.333 m): There we start the approximate 5-hour circular hike via trail nr. 101 to the Paternsattel (2.454m) and then on to the Rif. Drei Zinnen Hütte hut (2539m), where we rest for approximate 30 minutes. Via trail nr. 105 we continue to the Langalm (2240m) and come back to the starting point. Our adventure todays takes us to: Prato Piazza Along the route of the old 'Dolomite Railway' (closed for many years) on a wide, slightly uphill dirt road we cross the fairytale-like Landro Valley. After passing Lake Toblach and the war cemetery, after a short time we can enjoy the wonderful view of the famous Three Peaks of Lavaredo. Shortly after the enchanting Lake Landro we ascend along an old military road to Prato Piazza. After about six kilometres and just 500 metres of altitude difference, we find ourselves on the extensive plateau in the middle of the Braies Dolomites. After refreshments in a cosy hut, we have two options for descending towards Braies: either along a fast track or along the asphalted road. Having reached the bottom of the valley, we effortlessly return to our starting point in Toblach. Ride the chairlift up to the Haunold/Baranci. From there we go in search of the giant Haunold and can explore his kingdom at various stations. The hike then continues across the Schmiedelwiesen to the Wildbad and its various water sources. In the tranquillity of nature we learn many secrets of the forest as well as various forms of relaxation such as walking barefoot, treading water and relaxation exercises. On 28 September 2024, after the Zsigmondylauf, the Vertical Arena will take place at the Rifugio Comici to mark the anniversary of the Zwölferkofel this summer. Wingsuit pilot and mountain guide Marco Milanese will climb the Zwölferkofel and then glide back to the hut with his wingsuit. There he will talk about these and other adventures on the rock and in the air. This talk is entitled ‘Volare le montagne-di linee,equilibir e altre libertà’ and will be held in Italian. Afterwards there will be musical entertainment by the group ‘Cose di famiglia’ and a dinner with star chef Chris Oberhammer. This is an outdoor event, so warm clothing is recommended. Sleeping facilities are available, reservations and bookings for the dinner can be made directly at the Zsigmondyhütte.

After the Vertical Arena, we end the anniversary summer with a hut day around Zwölferkofel I Croda dei Toni. Let star chef Chris Oberhammer spoil you with culinary delights at Zsigmondy hut and enjoy autumn with music from Cose di famiglia in the Büllelejoch hut. Along the way, you can watch the highliners from Slacktopia and the paragliders from the Cumulus Club Sexten. The brave can book a Hike&Fly experience from the Oberbachernspitze peaks with Tandemfly3Zinnen. Our adventure todays takes us to: the Malga San Silvestro On this tour we have to commit ourselves right from the start. Right in Toblach, the approximately eight kilometre-long climb to the San Silvestro alpine pasture begins. We encounter two fairly demanding uphill sections, after all we climb gently along the agitated San Silvestro stream. After a short stop at the original alpine hut, we can enjoy the silence of the alpine pasture interrupted only by the melodic sound of the cowbells. We return to Toblach in a variety of ups and downs along forest tracks and asphalted roads. At the same time we can enjoy the wonderful panorama of the Sexten Dolomites and the Puster Valley.
