Alpine Folk Music Evening in Algund On Thursday, October 10, 2024, the Raiffeisen Hall at the house of culture Thalguter in Algund will transform into a place filled with traditional Alpine sounds. Starting at 8:30 PM, you can enjoy an evening of authentic folk music from the Alpine region, performed by outstanding music groups. Performers: Die Herwärtigen: Tanzlmusig Algund Die Hoamstanzer Michael Andreas Haas with a guitar solo from Reutte/Tyrol The lively group "Wetterhexn" The evening will be guided by Barbara Plattner. Locals and guests are warmly invited to share in this wonderful event. Admission is a voluntary donation. Schenna market is full of festival feeling. Like in the olden days, the market is more than just a place to sell or buy wares – it’s a place to meet people and stop for a chat!

How does the production of delicious mozzarella work? During a tour of the Wegerhof farm, you can not only take a look behind the scenes, but also find out first-hand how the white gold of Passeiertal Valley is refined into flavourful mozzarella. Afterwards, we can taste this and other farm cheeses before making our way back to St. Leonhard/S. Leonardo. Dani Jung from the Vinschgau Valley, one of the world's best trail runners, will accompany you on a trail running day and share his expertise with you. Whether "classical music, but with humour" ("Nessun dorma" from Puccini's opera "Turandot"), musical hits "in brass" ("I Don't Know To Love Him" from Webber's "Jesus Christ Superstar") or a suddenly orchestral pop anthem ("Earth, Wind and Blechschaden Fire"): For all the serious professionalism with which the musicians master their instruments, Blechschaden always prioritises one thing: giving the audience fun with and around the music. Is that possible in Bavaria without Bavarian music? Of course not! So something hearty like the "Steingadener Musikantenmarsch" is a must. This year, once again, a special charity concert will take place in the romantic courtyard of Schenna Castle. The Austrian pop trio folkshilfe will make a stop in Schenna as part of their Unplugged Tour and will present themselves from a very personal perspective. The proceeds will go to the South Tyrolean Children's Cancer Aid Peter Pan. An evening that moves hearts. Help us help too, secure yourself a ticket and look forward to an extraordinary concert.

The main attraction of the "Wandelhalle", a covered arcade that features a series of paintings of local landscapes and busts of prominent historic figures of the city. Various artists will expose their works there.

As part of this year's series of free Sunday concerts held by the Merano Tourist Office, the Musikkapelle Sinich/Freiberg traditional band will perform today at the Kursaal. Stop by to listen and enjoy the band's good musicianship. Free admission.

ONLY IN GERMAN! From the beginning of October, at the end of the grape harvest, until the beginning of the pre-Christmas season is "Törggelezeit". After leisurely walks through the golden autumn landscape, guests and South Tyroleans enjoy the products of the harvest, especially chestnuts and new wine (Sußer). On this week's hike we visit the Rastlhof. We take the bus from the village centre of Schenna to Verdins and hike via the Wieser Steig up to the Schenner Waalweg. Via the Bergerweg we finally reach the Rastlhof and after a cosy stop for refreshments we walk back down to St. Georgen. From the starting point you are free to decide whether to return on foot or by bus. Of course, a Törggelemenü and hearty music are not to be missed! Have you ever seen a sustainable and completely self-sufficient farm? If not, then this hike to the Niedersteinhof mountain farm is just the thing for you! After a hike, Walter will open the gates of his organic farm and take you on a passionate tour of his farming activities. He describes his philosophy, the self-sufficient concept of the farm and the skilful combination of his mainstays of farm holidays, green energy and South Tyrolean mountain meadow hay. The organic mountain meadow hay in particular, from harvesting to versatile use, has led to creative "haylights" such as cushions, hay beds, wallpaper, lampshades, flooring, liqueur and gin. After the impressive tour of the farm, you can then make your own hay cushion and taste the farm's own products. The young farmers of Tesimo/Prissiano invite you to a convivial evening with roasted chestnuts, "Suser" (grape must) and wine in the centre of Tesimo.

After a short hike, participants can experience the path "from grain to Kaiserschmarren" in the MuseumPasseier. With various hands-on activities in the open-air area, it is shown in an interesting way how a Kaiserschmarren is made from grain. At the end, of course, you can taste the delicious Kaiserschmarren. Every farmer’s wife has her culinary secrets! At the farmer’s kitchen on the Raiffeisenplatz market square, Scena's farmers’ wives offer authentic traditional and tasty specialities. "Törggelen" is a popular autumn custom for enjoying harvest fruits like chestnuts, apples and grapes. Ham and cheese, young wine and local dishes, all taste so much better when enjoyed in company and good music!

Our farmer will guide you through their fields, explains you about the healthy ingredients, the production area and about all sorts and brands of the South Tyrolean apple. Gain insight into the secrets of the apple farmers - from the latest technology of today and the gnarled giants of the past. Afterwards, you can taste for yourself.

We start at the Kratzegg car park in Ulfas/Passeiertal and hike along a good path to the Ulfaseralm. From there we ascend to the Schartalm, where we stop for a bite to eat. Afterwards we take the ‘Hahnl’ with us and here we start the descent to the ‘Waalerhütte’ and via the Ulfaser/Matatzer Waalweg we return to the car park.
