We start at the Kratzegg car park in Ulfas/Passeiertal and hike along a good path to the Ulfaseralm. From there we ascend to the Schartalm, where we stop for a bite to eat. Afterwards we take the ‘Hahnl’ with us and here we start the descent to the ‘Waalerhütte’ and via the Ulfaser/Matatzer Waalweg we return to the car park. The Kellerei Meran invites you to an exclusive wine tasting at the house of culture Thalguter in Algund on October 18th from 3:00 PM to 5:00 PM. An experienced sommelier from the "Kellerei Meran" will present the finest wines and guide you through the tasting. The Kellerei Meran is deeply rooted in our region. Tradition, landscape, and viticulture have always been closely intertwined in the Merano area. The foundation of the "Kellerei Meran" was laid back in 1901 by a few dedicated vintners. Today, following the merger of the "Burggräfler Kellerei" and the "Weinkellerei Meran" in 2010, the cooperative boasts 360 members. In the glass, the origin and provenance of the grapes must be perceptible. The wine should stay true to its "roots" and represent transparency, character, and authenticity. Each bottle thus becomes a special experience. Many of the Algund vintners are members of the "Kellerei Meran" and make a significant contribution to these aromatic wines. If you have admired the beautiful vineyards in Algund, you can now savor them in a fine wine. Come by, raise a toast, and experience the Merano-Algund harmony in wine.

The Event Delights Market from 18th to 20th October on Algund's church square offers a culinary tour through South Tyrol. For three days exhibitors present fine wines, homemade syrups, jams, honey, cheese, meat and sausage as well as handcraft products.

Giulia Tornarolli invites us to rediscover our body as a means of communication. Drawing on various practices from dance, theatre and contact improvisation, this work allows us to regain awareness of the body and strengthen our attention to it. Dancer, performer and teacher based in Brussels, Giuia Tornarolli began her freelance career after studying at NSCD and SEAD. She works with international artists such as Sebastian Zuber, Edivaldo Ernesto and Panorama Dance Theater. Since 2019 she has been developing her own idiom as an artist through performances designed for different cultural contexts. She also leads workshops on improvisation and body education.

First held in 1886, the Merano Grape Festival delights with intriguing performances, delicious South Tyrolean food and a wide range of concerts (including some fairly experimental ones). Keschtnriggl - Chestnut days. The Chestnut Weeks and the Törggelen in Merano and Environs have been a South Tyrolean Tradition for years. Chestnut days in Tesimo/Tisens - Prissiano/Prissian, Foiana/Völlan and Lana gets ist Name from the "Keschtnriggl" - a hand-braided basket for Peeling roast chestnuts. For three weeks, a colourful Event Programme is put on for visitors: Chestnut walks, torchlight processions from castle to castle and the "Keschtnfestl" feast in Foiana, with Music, farmers market, chestnut delicates and traditional crafts. The aromatic fruit with ist spiky Shell, grows particularly well in Merano and Environs, and during this green Event has pride of place in the specialities of traditional inns and prestigious Restaurants, as well as in exquisite chestnut products such as sweet chestnut hearts, aromatic chestnut beer, hearty chestnut stollen, tasty chestnut spraed, luxuriant chestnut cake, fluffy chestnut bread, the excellent chestnut panettone as well as the noble chestnut praline.

Concert with the band of Rabenstein at the Raiffeisen Square

With the Village market the village bridge is transformed into a culinary and artisanal treasure trove and invites you to discover, enjoy and taste. Several producers from the Passeiertal Valley present their exquisite products that make the heart of every market lover beat faster.

The traditional "Erntedank"-procession will be accompanied by the Parcines music band. After the Holy Mass and the procession, a short concert will be held. During the Chestnut Festival "KESCHTNRIGGL", everything revolves around the "Tisner Kescht" (Chestnut of Tesimo). During the "KESCHTNRIGGL" period, menus in selected restaurants feature specially created chestnut dishes. The chestnut is the protagonist of numerous events during the Chestnut Festival KESCHTNRIGGL.

Naturno has made a name for itself as a market town in recent years; the much-visited and popular weekly market on Saturdays has become indispensable for locals and holidaymakers alike, and attracts many visitors to the village. The "Kirchtigmarkt" is one of the three annual markets where up to 55 stallholders offer their goods.

Experience chestnuts and wine in Lana in the chestnut grove of the Katzenthalerhof on Brandiswaalweg and in the "Hännsl am Ort" vineyard in Mitterlana. Wine, nature, old stone walls & wine cellars. Enjoy a delicious chestnut soup and traditional chestnut bread and taste farm made wines. Last but not least, we roast chestnuts together on the open fire. Did you know that a section of the E5 hiking trail was once a Waalweg? Hiking guide Arnold accompanies you on this route, telling you exciting facts about the waterways and the local flora and fauna along the way. During a stopover at the Pfeiftal restaurant, you can enjoy a typical snack "Marendbrettl". Then continue along the newly created hiking trail to the Gilf waterfall and along the Passerdamm trail back to St. Leonhard/ S. Leonardo. After a leisurely lunch break with refreshments, the hike leads back to Vernuer/Vernurio via the well-known Merano Mountain High Trail. ONLY IN GERMAN! From the beginning of October, at the end of the grape harvest, until the beginning of the pre-Christmas season is "Törggelezeit". After leisurely walks through the golden autumn landscape, guests and South Tyroleans enjoy the products of the harvest, especially chestnuts and new wine (Sußer). On this week's hike we visit the Zmailerhof. With the bus we go from the center in Schenna up to the restaurant Pichler and then hike along the Ratscheidweg to the Zmailerhof and after the cozy stop further to St. Georgen. From the starting point you can freely decide whether to return by foot or by bus. A Törggelemenü and hearty music may not be missing of course! Three castels in one night ("Drei Burgen in einer Nacht") in Prissian/Prissiano, is a short walk with torchlights from Castel Fahlburg to the Castle Wehrburg and to Castel Katzenzungen meanwhile you enjoy cultural and culinary surprises and at the end of the evening will be serverd a degustation dinner based on the local chestnut. Costs: 100,00 euro per person. On reservation only, whitin Monday, 21th October until 5 p.m.

At the Algund Farmers' Market from October 23rd to 27th, fresh, regional, and homemade products from all over South Tyrol will be showcased and offered for sale. Join us and be inspired by the variety of agricultural products. Fresh chestnuts will be roasted daily. Two farmers will provide visitors with homemade dishes and serve freshly harvested wines and drinks from their own production. A special program with live music will round off the event.

Round, tasty, traditional! The dumpling is not a normal meal in South Tyrol, but a way of life. Would you also like to know how the spherical delicacy gets onto your plate? During a cooking course, farmerin Rosina will show you how the South Tyrolean dumpling is typically prepared and will be happy to give you one or two insider tips. Afterwards, everyone can enjoy the homemade dumpling speciality themselves. The event will be in German and Italian.
