Symphonic Winds, this very special wind orchestra consisting of around 50 musicians Symphonic Winds, which consists of around 50 musicians, has enjoyed well over 65,000 concerts. This year, the Symphonic Winds wind orchestra, under the artistic direction of Alexander Veit, will perform together with the German trumpet soloist Christoph Moschberger in Dobbiaco (Gustav Mahler Hall of the Euregio Cultural Centre in Dobbiaco), Bolzano (Konzerthaus) and Merano (Kursaal). Manfred Sinn, Sabino Monterisi, Daniel Vieider and Ivan Marini (saxophone quartet) will also perform as soloists alongside Symphonic Winds. Christoph Moschberger is a great example of great versatility. His artistic versatility makes him one of the most fascinating trumpet soloists of his generation. On December, 21/22 and 26 he will be in South Tyrol. During his studies in Cologne he played in almost all German radio big bands. Christoph Moschberger has worked with many international jazz and has performed on stage or in front of the television camera. The list of his references seems almost endless. In 2019, his first solo album "Home" was released in collaboration with the Austrian brass band "Da Blechhaufn". 2024 is the release date for his second solo album, which he recorded with the WDR Funkhausorchester Köln. In addition to regular appearances as a soloist, Christoph Moschberger is also a permanent ensemble member of "Federspiel". He also tours with the "Blasmusik Supergroup" of Thomas Gansch and the band of Gregor Meyle. Discover this stunning winter terrain on an organised snowshoe hike with guide. After reaching Videgg by bus from Schenna/Scena, our hike starts along the forest road, through the snow-covered forest looking out on a majestic mountain panorama to the Videgger Asse pastures and back. This winter hike maximises the experience of this pristine terrain, our snowshoes enabling us to move across the snow with little effort. The total elevation gain is approximately 400 m, and the hike lasts about 3 hours. For lunch we stop at a cosy mountain inn in Videgg to enjoy a taste of the sumptuous local fare. After this well-deserved break we make our way back to Schenna in the early afternoon. Throughout our snowshoe hike, we are accompanied by experienced mountain guide, Elisabeth Unterthurner.

Then we head uphill to Kampfl Kreuz. At this beautiful viewpoint, we take a short break. The conclusion of this educational tour is a grappa tasting in the historic cellar at Torgglerhof.

The Wiener Sängerknaben is one of the most famous choirs in the world, and one of the oldest: the first reference to choirboys in Vienna Castle dates back to 1296. Two hundred years later, on July 7, 1498, the future Roman-German Emperor Maximilian I founded a chapel in Vienna in which boys were to sing alongside adult singers; choirboys from Augsburg, Innsbruck and Freiburg im Breisgau were sent to Vienna for this purpose. They were to sing "an ambt" every day. This laid the foundation for the Vienna Boys' Choir. Like their modern-day successors, the boys were always "on the road" with their imperial employer - they sang at imperial festivals, coronations, weddings, processions and court festivals. Over the centuries, the Viennese court attracted brilliant musicians such as Heinrich Isaac, Johann Josef Fux, Christoph Willibald Gluck and Wolfgang Amadeus Mozart. Joseph and Michael Haydn and Franz Schubert sang in the choir as boys; Anton Bruckner was their singing and piano teacher. The arrival of this beautiful time of year is traditionally celebrated in Schenna with a big Spring Festival run by the Voluntary Fire Brigade. All ages get together in the covered Raiffeisenplatz in the centre of the village to celebrate, dance and have a fun time.
