“Still, still, still” is the title of the program and brings together the most beautiful and successful Advent and Christmas songs from the various concerts of the past ten years. But new pieces will also make this program a very special concert experience. Once again, we would like to give you an unforgettable hour of Advent, in which the much longed-for peace and contemplation of this hectic time can actually be felt again without any pre-Christmas kitsch.

After exactly 10 years, AstraLaVista is back on the big screen in Brixen: on December 21st, ALV will present documentaries that take a critical look at contemporary issues and reflect life in South Tyrol in its many forms of expression. AstraLaVista is a collective whose heart beats for cinema and local movies. A core element of ALV is the collective experience. Everyone has the opportunity to see all the films and participate in the subsequent discussions, which will take place directly after the screenings and enable an intensive exchange between filmmakers and the audience. From the afternoon until the evening, everyone is invited to watch films together, talk and party together. Admission is by donation and the bar is open, while a simple, warm dish will be available in the evening. Astra la Vista bebi!

The ice rink opens its doors for public skating on October 27, 2024. Special opening hours are scheduled during the fall, Christmas and Carnival vacations.

Our colourful little hummingbird, the messenger of love, light, hope and peace, takes the audience on a magical musical journey between dream and reality. In this new, exciting chapter, he meets a completely different creature, and what begins as a challenge soon turns into a heart-warming friendship. Ernst Müller, born and raised in Vinschgau, draws his artistic inspiration from deep-rooted childhood memories. The self-taught artist and trained coachbuilder began painting at the age of thirteen and over the decades has developed into an important chronicler of the South Tyrolean cultural landscape. Influenced by the precise observation of classical masters such as Albin Egger Lienz, Toulouse-Lautrec and Claude Monet, Müller initially created scenes of everyday rural life, later devoting himself mainly to picturesque farmsteads and landscapes, which are now considered his trademark. The nostalgia that has accompanied the artist since childhood is omnipresent in his oil paintings. The artist captures the magic of the South Tyrolean mountains with vibrant colours and impasto structures that transport the viewer to a world of the past. Many of the farms he portrays no longer exist, which gives his paintings not only artistic but also documentary value.

Berty Skuber was born in Völs am Schlern and has lived and worked in Völser Aicha for decades, interspersed with longer stays in Venice and Milan and numerous trips. Her exhibition activities, which began in 1970, have taken her far beyond South Tyrol and Italy to various European and American galleries, museums and collections. Berty Skuber works with a wide variety of media in her extensive oeuvre, ranging from painting and drawing to collage, artist's books, sculpture, objects and video. The exhibition shows important stages of her life's work.

The pictures and texts of the Advent calendar were created by people with disabilities in the WunderBar - Seeburg workshop, focusing on the topic of peace. The pictures can be purchased in postcard format at the information stand.

Even artist Nora Gutwenger, who recently returned from Vienna to live in the Pustertal valley, realized this. Instead of the wooded slopes she was used to, she is now surrounded by bare slopes. Who changed nature? The bark beetle? Or is man at the origin of this change? What characterizes an almost natural forest? In Angelika Wischermann's works, it is the artist herself who changes nature. Unlike most human interventions, however, the artist proceeds very carefully. She observes the branching network of paths of a forest ant colony for a long time before doing small works with her infrastructure project to make life easier for the insects. In the exhibition space, artistic research processes can be experienced through drawings, textile works and a video. You are also cordially invited to explore the theme in a reading corner. Local and seasonal, straight from the producer. Farmers from the surrounding area bring their own farm produce to the Brixen old town centre. Depending on the season, fresh fruit and vegetables, dairy products, eggs, flowers, honey, homemade jams and pasta sauces, refined distillates and organically grown herbs as well as wooden handicrafts are offered on Wednesdays and Saturdays. From April to October, local associations prepare fresh tirtln (fried stuffed pastry) on site on a weekly basis. This means that every Saturday is also a culinary experience. This market has been a popular, lively meeting place for locals and guests for 30 years.

The New Year's Concert is always a special attraction for visitors from near and far. On 5 January, the Haydn Orchestra of Bolzano and Trento will perform with conductor Fabrizio Ventura and Belarusian soprano Maria Chabounia. The programme is entirely dedicated to the Viennese Strauss dynasty.
