From Lana the well-signposted route leads below the Vigiljoch Cable Car firstly along Villener Weg, then Raffeinweg up the mountain to Aichbergweg, where it leads in a southerly direction. Continuing to climb, Aichbergweg leads for almost 2 km high above Ultnerstrasse road through the forest and vineyards. Then turning left downhill, cross over Ultnerstrasse and on a track down to Braunsbergweg. Aichnerbergweg now leads past Braunsberg Castle back to Lana.
From the center of the village of Gargazzone we head in the direction of Merano as far as the edge of the village, where, before the bridge, we turn into Aschlbachstrasse past a few houses and then along a path through the meadows to Vöranerweg.
Another possibility would also be to start from the main road and pass the Turmwirt inn and then take Vöranerweg uphill. At the sweeping right-hand bend we cross to the left over the bridge over the Aschlbach.
The route then winds steeply uphill to the Morosing, Pfontscher and Steger farms. The view into the romantic Aschlbach gorge should not be missed. From there we can either take the easy road to the center of the village of Verano or chose the steeper, yet more picturesque footpath to the mountain station of the Verano Cable Car.
The Ultner Talweg leads from S. Pancrazio/St. Pankraz on the sunny side to S. Valburga/St. Walburg and back on the opposite side.
Moderately difficult hike to the idyllic "Gfrillner Laugenalm" with wonderful views.
The Tschigat is a striking peak in the Texel Group. The pyramid formed from gneiss offers a magnificent view of many mountain peaks. The tour to the Tschigat is not just a hike, but a real mountain tour with easy climbing passages (grade 2) in exposed terrain. Experience, a good physical condition, sure-footedness, a head for heights and stable mountain weather are prerequisites (dangerous with ice and snow).
Family-friendly hike in the Novella Canyon between the villages of St. Felice and Tret in Val di Non on the border between South Tyrol and Trentino.
Between high walls of Dolomites the impressive waterfall of San Felice delights visitors. Beginning from the center of the village, by following the signs “Wasserfallweg” the tour leads across meadows, along farmer houses, walking down 170 steps in a pine forest to a panoramic pulpit on the bottom of the waterfall “Bus dal Pis”. Crossing the river and following the path on the opposite site of the canyon the tour brings back to San Felice. For those who cannot walk down the rough stairs in the forest there is a panoramic platform above the Waterfall directly accessible from the forest road.
A flat-surfaced, shaded, idyllic path along the lakeshore of the Zoggler reservoir with 6 stations with sculptures on the subject of Kneipp, a central water basin, loungers, tables, benches, a fountain, a mill by the stream...
This walk/fitness trail is approximately 2.5 km long and mostly passes through shady terrain. The central access is located close to the Parish Church in Postal. From there, the path turns to the north, towards the Förstlerhof and then south to the valley station of the Verano cable car. It is possible to join or leave the route all the way along. On the southern part of the trail is a fitness path with several points where there are instructions for a variety of exercises.
From the parking lot of the Hirzer cable car station in Saltaus, the way leads down to the Passer causeway and continues to the Torgglerhof Apple Hotel. From there, the trail alongside the old irrigation channel leads up to Schenna – or, after the Waaler hut, in the direction of Riffian and Meran. After about 1.5 hours you reach Meran, from where you can easily take the bus back to Saltaus. Total length: 10 km
The "Kröllturmrunde" ... all around this is not difficult! Observation platform and rest areas make the newly designed path on Kröllturm varied and attractive.
Above Gargazon, the Kröll tower, which dates back to the Middle Ages, rises out of the forest. But the tower is not at the beginning of the way. From the village square in Gargazon, a guidance system guides hikers to the Kröllturmrunde, access and view to the waterfall included.
You should not have it in a hurry. Rather, the Kröllturmrunde is a pleasure hike for the whole family. Along the way there are rest areas, some with loungers, others with seating. They are called "Halfway", "Untermturm" and "Obernturm", also at the old quarry there are rest opportunities with beach chairs.
And after the hike? Nothing like in the water: best in the natural pool in Gargazzone, the only public natural bath in the west of South Tyrol, sustainably built, of course created and easily accessible, even by bike, bus and train.
Friendly atmosphere, Tyrolean dishes, camp bed, board games - the "Hochganghaus" invites you to take a break. For families and hikers who enjoy the beauty of the mountains.
The romantic trail leads along the Sinich river to a little waterfall with a panoramic platform.
Starting in the center of the village of Cermes, taking Baslinger Strasse and Lebenberger Strasse the route heads somewhat steeply uphill to Lebenberg Castle (one of the most beautiful residences in our area). It is possible to visit the castle between April and beginning of November every day except Sunday, and this is well worthwhile. From there the trail continues to head uphill for a short while to the former Tauferer Badl, then branches off to the right past the ruins of Holdersberg Castle.
From there a road leads downhill, past Halbweg to the hairpin bend with the sign pointing to the Marlinger Höhenweg high mountain trail. Now the trail continues with only a slight difference in altitude, past the Ausserholzmoar Hof farm, reaching the Senn am Egg inn after approx. 2 hours. For those who do not wish to return via the same route, it is possible to continue the descent to Forst on this trail and then either walk back along the Marlinger Waalweg irrigation channel path or take the bus back, the Busline 213 Partschins-Algund-Meran.

Hikers and art enthusiast that take the South Tyrolean Sculpture Walk Trail can experience how artists from all over the world reacted on the given landscape and the changing conditions along the track and how differently they interpreted the nature in their individual works. These art exhibition sites are perfect resting spots and at the same time provide a space for contemplation and self-discovery.

Selected works were placed in key locations, such as crossroads and forks, as a way for walkers to navigate and be spurred on by the works of art. Those who take it slow will be rewarded as the trail reveals the interaction between nature and sculpture - a delight for the eyes, intellect and spirit.

Tschögglberg Hiking Area
The Tschögglberg is the mountain ridge of the Sarntal Alps from which there are wonderful views of Lana. The Salten plateau is situated on this imposing mountain range.
The Salten is distinguished by its relatively flat hiking trails, which invite visitors to enjoy leisurely walks in the broad meadows and forests of the plateau. A hike through the largest larch meadow in Europe also offers a wonderful insight into the legend-shrouded world of South Tyrol.
On the side of the path hikers and bikers can learn about the mystical figures that lived on the Salten plateau according to ancient tales.
Thanks to its location, the Tschögglberg offers a fantastic view of the Dolomites, the Etschtal Valley and Lake Kalterersee. The lovely hiking area can also be reached without a car. Cable cars run up to the Tschögglberg from the villages of Vilpiano and Postal. The wonderful hiking trails onto the plateau start from the mountain stations.
The Tschögglberg is the perfect destination for leisurely walks, moderately difficult hikes and wonderful mountain bike rides with fantastic panoramic views. With the countless places to stop for refreshment, there is also plenty to tickle the taste buds.
This trail is rather uneven, running along the entire segment is recommended only for experienced runners.
The Alpine Pastures Tour is generally flat and wide and leads to various mountain huts.
