Excursion to the Plantapatsch Alpine Hut with a beautiful view to the valley and the mountains around
From the parking lot at the Watles family ski area’s valley station (1750 m),
follow the trail signs (ca. 200 m) in the direction Höfer group Prämajur
(food service), on the well-marked hiking trail through the wintery larch and
pine forest up to the Höfer hut (2010 m, refreshments). On to the
Plantapatsch Alpine Hut (refreshments). The way home follows the same
trail back to the starting point.
The hike starts at the visitor centre of the Stelvio National Park, culturamartell.
The path guides to Martello - Gand, then across a wooden bridge over the Plima. The path no. 7 brings you to the "Steinwandhof". From there a short uphill to a forest road (trail no. 19), past a ruined lime kiln. Now following the slightly uphill forest through the larch forest until the path no. 1, this less steeper trail along the Kreuzjöchl (2,053 m), conduct you through the larch wood. Once at Kreuzjöchl, hike to the gap Covelano (path no. 23). In front of you opens a rewarding view over Val Venosta. The path no. 3 leads you through the peastures meadow of the Monte Sole in Val Martello into the village of Martello. From there take always the path no. 21 down to the visitor centre culturamartell.

You walk past the "Stallwies- and Greithof" and from there follow the marking 15A. Once the path leads out of the forest, the trek continues left and returns through the forest path no.8 back to "Niederhof".
At numerous stations, the Strawberry Trail in Val Martello demonstrates the production process of the high quality berries, leading past fields of strawberries and the farms of growers. Val Martello is not known as the “Valley of Berries” for nothing!

Relaxing hike to the rustic Malga Soy in Val Martello
Start at the Hölderele parking in Val Martello and take the path through the forest and then path no. 4 to continue on a large forest road. You then reach a very steep part with few bends. Afterwards, you get to a bridge and then there is another short ascent. Before jumping on the fresh, green meadows you have to climb the last slightly steep ascent. The rustic Malga Soy is immersed in the green at the end of the meadow.

As of the Hotel Latscherhof, follow about 20 meters the street high up to the asphalt way which branches off on the right and runs through the fruit plants. At the end of the way go to the opposite forest motor road and through the big iron gate. Duch leads a light woods area and the forest motor road after some hairpin bends where the way back starts rising moderately-one reaches the junction-to Morter. One leaves the forest road for short time and chooses a narrow woods path which in turn leads to the forest road and leads to the Castle Obermontani. On a narrow path to the Ruin Untermontani get off and for the wood bridge over, on the right branch off and go on in the direction of the Bierkeller. More briefly, the fruit plant crosses increase after to the Mareinwaal. From there go the asphalt way through fruit plants back to the start point.
