The Solda Glacier Trail runs along the foot of the Gran Zebrù/Königsspitze, Zebrù and Ortler. It is not a fixed path, but a route with orange and yellow wooden posts, which has to be renewed every year because the glacier is constantly moving. The unique moraine field occasionally releases war relics of the 1st World War.
Starting point of this tour is the Restaurant Alpenfriede in Gschwell in the Langtaufers valley. From there turn left across meadows onto a forest path. Follow this until you reach a mountain barn, then turn left and follow the old military track until you reach the edge of the forest. Caution is advised there.
