    Kuenhof was mentioned for the first time in the 12th century. It was then owned by the Bishop of Bressanone. The Wine Estate is located south of Bressanone, embedded in the vineyards and near the Brenner corridor. From the very first years as winegrowers we wanted a sustainable agriculture. Our purpose is a balanced symbiosis between human being, cultivated plants and nature. This accompanies the grape from the vineyard to the cellar. Our grapes grow at an altitude of 550 to 890 metres (1,800 to 2,900 feet) in the beautiful Valle Isarco. The terraced vineyards are mostly steep slopes.

The meat and the milk from our cows, calves and sheep that spend the whole summer on the mountain pasture, is healthy and very tasty. Fresh salads and all kind of vegetables and fruit come directly from our garden. The remaining milk is processed within our farm to tasty cheese specialities.

    The Gummererhof lies high above the Brixen valley basin, nestling amongst chestnut groves and vineyards. In autumn, when the days draw in and get cooler, a lot of 'törggelling' goes on in the farmhouse - that involves finishing off the day with tasty farm fare and a glass of the season's new wine. House ‘Sekt’ (sparkling wine), made from the native ‘Blatterle’ grape is a special feature of the Gummererhof farm. Open days: Open daily from mid September to mid December from 15.00. Closed on Mondays. Open from Friday to Sunday in January and February. Booking recommended.

    The Huberhof farm lies above the Brixen valley basin in the idyllic hamlet of Elvas. The farm family has converted their 18th century cellar into an inviting inn, where guests can enjoy the best of the Eisack valley’s culinary fare. The farm also takes Farm Holiday guests. Open from the end of September to the beginning of December. Monday and Thursday open from 12 noon until 5pm. Fridays from 15.00, Saturday and Sunday from 12.00. Tuesdays and Wednesdays only to prior order. Open from midday from beginning of April to mid-May on Saturdayzs and Sundays. During the remainder of the year reservations for groups of min. 15 persons are taken.

With his creative dishes he accompanies you on a delicious journey through traditional South Tyrolean cuisine, a real tasting experience. The team is also supported by Hermann, who is happy to share his experience and expertise with his colleagues. One “must” in the kitchen: the preservation of the true taste of the products, which must be genuine, pure, and intense. For this reason, vegetables, herbs, berries and fruit come directly from the hotel garden.

    In addition to the quaint coziness and dreamlike location, it’s the culinary expertise of Franz Pernthaler that has made gastronomes the world-over recommend the Schatzer Lodge.
