Leisurely and relaxing hike from Furnes through the Resciesa forest to the Holy Cross Chapel.
From the mountain station of the funicular railway at 2,103 m altitude we run first westward to the Resciesa summit cross. There we take a little time to enjoy the breathtaking panorama and to cast a look into the neighbouring Val di Funes. After that we take paths no. 10, 31 and 35 toward the Brogles Saddle, whereas we stay approximately at the same elevation, making this run a real pleasure. Arriving at the Brogles Saddle we can either run back the same way to the funicular, or we turn right onto path n. 5, which leads into the path no. 9 through Val d’Anna and finally brings us back to Ortisei. Just before we reach the village we come to a Kneipp facility in Val d’Anna, where we can cool our legs.
A 5 km long running track combined with 5 stations offers everyone the opportunity to keep their bodies fit in the great outdoors.
This hike takes you from Ortisei to S. Jacob and scores for the 360° panoramic view of the Dolomites.
This easy and leisurely running trail is very popular from the locals and leads you from Ortisei to S. Cristina. Along the entire course, runners can enjoy the beautiful view of the Dolomites.
The Val Gardena Mountain Run, one of the most scenic mountain runs in the world, takes place every year in July in Val Gardena. The 14.5 km long route runs from Ortisei over the sleepy hamlet of St. Jacob in the UNESCO World Heritage area Puez-Geisler, and from there to the summit of Ortisei’s “local” mountain, the Seceda. The view which awaits us along the route and at our destination at 2,457 m is simply stunning. The return route can be taken comfortably by cable car.
We run from the Ortisei parish church to the base station of the Seceda cable car, from there a small wooden bridge crosses the stream. The path now ascends slightly along the stream through the woods to the Cafe/Restaurant Annatal, where we turn around and run back to Ortisei. On the return leg, we pass a Kneipp facility where we can cool our legs.
On the way up from Ortisei to the top of the mountain on 2.200 meters you can enjoy for 8 minutes the wonderful panorama of the Dolomites.
