Thrill seekers will probably already have penciled in the 15. June 2024 onto their calendars a while ago. The HERO Südtirol Dolomites in Selva Val Gardena represents one of the hardest mountain bike events for amateurs and professional cyclists. The competition is spectacular and a great opportunity for international professional athletes and ambitious amateur cyclists to come together, allowing them to pursue the same dream.

Traditional "Damml" Festival with live Music...have fun!

The feast of Corpus Christi is celebrated in South Tyrol every year on the second Thursday after Pentecost. Corpus Christi celebrating the abiding presence of Jesus Christ in the Eucharist. The parade of the traditional Val Gardena costumes starts at 7.35 a.m. from S. Antonio square, through the pedestrian area, to the parish church of Ortisei. Here, the Corpus Christi is celebrated with a solemn mass at 8.00 a.m. The mass is followed by a procession in which the entire village community participates with great devotion and in which the Blessed Sacrament is carried through the center of the village.

The village festival in S. Pietro in Laion will take place on June 28th and 29th, 2025.

The Reschenseelauf / Giro Lago di Resia: a running experience like no other! On 12 July 2025, the picturesque Lake Reschen will be transformed into a spectacular running track. With almost 4,000 participants, the Reschenseelauf / Giro Lago di Resia is one of the biggest running events in the Alps. The 15.2km course offers breathtaking views of the largest artificial lake in South Tyrol and the majestic mountains surrounding the Ortles. Runners, Nordic walkers, handicapped and children are divided into different categories and receive a fantastic starter pack including refreshments, lunch and a free massage. At the finish line everyone gets a finisher gift and a certificate. 2025 will be a very special year for the Reschenseelauf / Giro Lago di Resia: To celebrate its 25th anniversary, there will be a spectacular night run! The race won't start at 17:00 as usual, but at 21:30 in front of the historic church tower. Over 1,000 torches will light up the track around the lake. The South Tyrolean Whipcracking (‘Goaslschnöller’) Association invites you to the Whipcracking Championship. Whipcracking will be performed in groups of 2, 3 or 4, and judged on posture, volume and timing. The loud whipcrack sound has been used by South Tyrolean herdsmen to drive cattle for centuries. However, whipcracking was also a means of communication over long distances on the alpine pastures, for example to communicate when food was ready or someone was injured. Today, it’s used at religious events, village and alpine festivals, parades and Alpine cattle drives to keep the old tradition alive. The 25th anniversary of Goaßlschnöller Villnöss valley is also celebrated. Followed by an after show party in the tent. The detailed festival programme will follow.

A gourmet menu with a panoramic view! The Berglertafel mountaineers’ dinner is a five-course menu of typical dishes from Tiers served in a stunning setting. The venue is Proa, a mountain pasture with a view of the Rosengarten. There is arguably no other vantage point in Tiers am Rosengarten from where you can see the famous alpenglow of King Laurin’s famous kingdom ... and all this while enjoying a fabulous gourmet menu. The table is more than a 100 metre long and can seat 170 gourmets who – in the form of a row – can enjoy a fabulous meal and, at the same time, this unique view of the Rosengarten.

The summer concert of the Music Band of S. Pietro is a wonderful opportunity to enjoy warm evenings with captivating music. Immerse yourself in the melodic sounds and let yourself be enchanted by the talented musicians. Experience an unforgettable and atmospheric event together with other music lovers. Starts at 08:30 PM in San Pietro at the village square. Burger and drinks will be provided!

125th anniversary of the volunteer fire department Antholz Mittertal at the covered fairground at the sports zone in Antholz Mittertal. Program follows!

Church festival in Lana di Sotto/Niederlana, procession at 9.00

An equestrian event with a guaranteed derby atmosphere: the “Palio” between the municipalities surrounding Merano sees the various teams allotted horses, then competing in races between both Haflinger mounts and thoroughbreds. South Tyrolean specialities and presentations round off the thrilling action on the race track.

Traditional Feast day with worship, procession and Festival Specialties: Lamb with beetroot salad, beetroot Knödel. 8.00 am Worship and procession (in German language) after the procession, festival with concert by the music band Tschengls/Cengles and then live music.

At the celebration the statue of Mary descends from the altar and is solemnly carried in procession through the village, accompanied by the music band of Silandro and the group “Schützen” with saluting guns. Afterwards, the garden festival of the band of Schlanders will take place at the Matscher Au. History: 1799 Silandro was threatened by Napoleon's troops, and in this misery the “Schützen” sought their refuge in the grace picture Mary in the parish church. The "Schützen" praised to celebrate this Sunday for all time as a thank you and to bring the statue of Mary in procession through the city. In fact, the enemy withdrew.

The horseracing weekend also comprises other competitions of international importance, such as the Price of Nations (which is linked to the Crystal Cup) on September 27th, whilst the main event, the 86th Meran South Tyrol Grand Prix will be held on September 28th. Meran’s Racecourse will offer a richly diverse culinary programme, including a tasty preview of the Merano WineFestival.

From Vinschger Paarlen rye bread and Puschtra Breatlan farmers’ bread to Schüttelbrot flat bread, country-style baked goods have always been an important part of life in Brixen. So it’s no surprise that the old town alone has around ten bakeries, each offering a unique selection of tempting goods. On the first weekend in October each year, Brixen celebrates its baking traditions. From Friday, 12th July to Sunday, 14th July, local associations organise the village festival. Friday evening: Opening of the village festival, tapping of the barrel with guests of honour from sport & politics. Festivities throughout the village with live bands, DJs and culinary delights. Festivities until 02.00 ore Saturday, from 5.00 p.m.: Start of the festivities with tasty treats and refreshing drinks. At approx. 17.30 hrs: Return of the round trip "Olt, roschtig und mindestens 2 Radler" with subsequent vehicle exhibition. Festive operation until 02.00 hrs Sunday, 11.00 a.m.: Start of the festival with a morning pint, musical entertainment and Villnöss specialities. 2.00 p.m.: big parade. Afternoon entertainment for big and small, young and old. 20.00: Drawing of the winners of the lottery in the schoolyard. End of festival at 22.00

Already for the 22nd time the Bressanone Old Town Festival takes place. Nothing has changed in the basic idea that the Old Town Committee set itself over thirty years ago: To organize a festival within the walls of the city of Bressanone in order to show to all citizens, but also to all guests, the beauty of our city worth preserving, combined with the intention of preserving it and, where necessary, restoring it with love and expertise. The various musical, folkloric and theatrical performances and the abundant culinary specialties on offer will once again delight guests and locals alike.
