Against an idyllic winter backdrop, small Christmas stalls pop up amid the snow covering the central square in white. Lovingly decorated and brightened by a myriad of tiny lights, these stands are the perfect place to savor the advent atmosphere. And if you're feeling peckish, you can enjoy delicious homemade specialties, mulled wine and apple mulled wine here.

As every year, St Nicholas is celebrated on 6 December in San Vigilio di Marebbe. The Saint arrives to bring small gifts to the children who have been good during the year. Starting at 5 pm at the pavilion, the children can meet St Nicholas and receive a small surprise. Be careful, however, from 6 p.m. the scary Krampus will also arrive at the pavilion. It is said that long ago, in times of famine, young people from small mountain villages would dress up using animal furs and horns. Disguised in this way, they would go around terrorising the inhabitants of neighbouring villages, robbing them of supplies for the winter season. But among them was an impostor, a demon, who became part of the group and was recognisable only by his goat's hoof-shaped paws. Bishop Nicholas was therefore called in to exorcise the ominous presence. Having defeated the demon, every year, young people on St Nicholas' Eve, disguised as demons, parade along the streets of the villages, no longer to plunder, but to “punish the naughty children”, accompanied by the figure of the bishop who had defeated evil.

Put on your snowshoes, a heavy jacket, and enter the Valley of the Mills following Christoph, an expert hiking guide. The moonlight, reflected on the snow-covered ground, reveals for you our fabulous Dolomites, which show themselves in a unique and spectacular new guise. Christoph will also take you to discover how the ancient mills that give the valley its name work.

From the cultivation of fodder to the rearing of calves, to livestock farming with dairy products and their refinement into tasty yoghurt, butter and cheese. The fauna of the Dolomites includes many types of known and easily sighted animals, such as squirrels and deers, but includes as many, difficult to see and hear, especially in the world of birds of prey. After a introduction (only in italian!) in the Visitor center of the Nature Park, we will drive to the Owls Park, where Mario will show and tell us the peculiarities of his feathered friends.

A walk at nightfall takes you along the idyllic landscape of the valley of Marebbe. The flickering light of the torches will reveal one suggestion after another, creating shadows that animate the silent meadows and woods of the Dolomites with life. To warm up, at the end of the excursion we invite you to enjoy a drink all together.

During the ascent to Monte Muro, following an easy path through evergreen forests and softly snow-covered meadows, hiking guide Christoph will reveal the secrets jealously guarded by these mountains and their nature. When you reach the summit, a serene plain, a spectacular panorama opens up before you, sweeping 360 degrees from Val Badia to Val Pusteria, dotted with some of the most famous peaks in the Dolomites. On clear days, the view can reach as far as the peaks of Austria and beyond.

Snowshoes are ideal for getting around in fresh snow, away from the crowds and discovering views and landscapes that only a few have the privilege of seeing. This snowshoe hike is particularly suitable for those who have never used this fun tool. The route is easy and without any technical difficulties, but allows you to approach hiking in fresh snow, a wonderful way to connect with winter nature. The hike is suitable for all ages, and requires no special effort. In Italian or German language.

Seeing it with your own eyes, it is not surprising that, for thousands of years, the Fanes plateau and its mountains have inspired stories and legends of princesses, heroes and lost kingdoms. Starting at the Pederu Hut, Christoph, an experienced hiking guide, will take you to the mountain pasture Fanes, at an altitude of over 2,000 metres, through an astonishing variety of landscapes. Snow-covered groves, frozen lakes and austere mountains form the backdrop for a wonderful hike, where legend becomes reality.

The women's giant slalom on the Erta has now established itself as a renowned race and can no longer be missed in the ski scene. The Erta slope is quite impressive - with a length of 1,325 m, a difference in altitude of 405 m and a maximum gradient of 61%, it demands the fullest skill and a large portion of courage from the participants.
