Benefit Advent Concert "Light a Little Candle, and Then It Will Be Christmas" When music becomes a beacon of light for others, it truly marks the Advent season, and Christmas can begin. With this spirit of giving, Sibylle Siller & her friends warmly invite you to a special concert on Sunday, December 15, 2024, at 6:00 PM in the parish church of Algund. The evening will feature a beautiful blend of alpine, classical, and modern music. Amidst the enchanting melodies, you will be treated to thoughtful readings and a unique, pre-Christmas atmosphere. The Glieshof-Musi, the brass ensemble Advent-4Klong, Juliane Telser, and many more will join in this third consecutive benefit concert, and they eagerly look forward to your presence. At the heart of this event, however, will be the story of a family in need, with 100% of the proceeds going to support them. Together, let’s light a small candle, and then it will truly be Christmas. This version adds a bit more warmth and flow, while maintaining the original message.

The Merano Grand Prix ranks among the top dance competitions in the world. For the 27th time, this special event takes place in the pre-Christmas period in the magnificent setting of the Kurhaus. A Family Fairy Tale, performed by Volksbühne Lana at Raiffeisenhaus Lana, 5:00 PM "Little Sister and Little Brother," a beloved tale by the Brothers Grimm, tells the heartwarming story of a brother and sister who flee from their cruel stepmother. The stepmother, however, has bewitched all the springs in the forest, causing the brother to be transformed into a deer. During a royal hunt, the king encounters the sister and invites both siblings to live at his castle. Yet the stepmother's wickedness follows them, as she transforms the sister into a ghost and crowns her own daughter as queen. But the king, through the strength of his love, uncovers the deceit and rescues the siblings from the evil spell. This enchanting story is brought to the stage by nearly 50 performers, with music composed by Daniel Pupp and choreography by Maria Tullia Pedrotti. This year, the Sterntaler Christmas Market in Lana becomes even more inviting. The enchanting backdrop of the historic Capuchin Garden contributes to the cozy atmosphere, hosting nearly 20 Christmas stalls during the Advent weekends – from November 29 to December 24, 2024. Small fir trees adorned with shiny red ornaments and the warm glow of luminous spheres surround the lovingly decorated stalls offering genuine South Tyrolean handicrafts. An engaging program for the whole family – including ponies and sheep, a glitter workshop, and a hands-on circus, all set to the sounds of festive live music – completes the experience and promises unforgettable moments of enjoyment. Ice Skating Fun in the Heart of Algund Starting Saturday, November 30, and continuing through mid-January 2025, ice skating enthusiasts can glide across the ice, practicing spins while improving endurance, coordination, and balance. Beginners are also welcome to join in the fun and can rent skates on-site. Just grab your hat, scarf, and gloves, and you’re ready to go! If your hands get chilly despite all the activity, you can warm up with a hot drink and a snack from the food stand. The church square sparkles in christmas lights, soft Christmas music and the smell of mulled wine and fresh pastries wafts through the air - on Friday, November 29th, it's finally time: the Algund Christmas Market opens its doors. 15 stalls and two food stands are eagerly waiting to sweeten your Advent season with regional crafts, hot drinks, and traditional dishes. The diverse offerings will be rounded off with musical performances, a show kitchen on Saturday evening, the large gingerbread house from the Tauber bakery, a children's program, and of course, the ever-popular ice skating rink. The 12x30 metre artificial ice rink offers locals and guests the chance to do their laps on the shiny surface right in the village centre. Skates and helmets can be rented.
