The weekly market takes place on the Lacus place in Laces. There you will find regional products, fruit and vegetables as well as clothing.

For more than half a century, the "Nikolauskommitee Schlanders" has been introducing the old South Tyrolean tradition of St. Nicholas parade. Passing the retirement home and the hospital, St. Nicholas runs with his carriage through the center to the Plawennpark, where the celebration ends. After the hike with touring skis or snowshoes, a warming wood-burning oven awaits you in the Maseben mountain hut, which provides cosy warmth at 2,267 metres and the kitchen team will spoil you with culinary delicacies.

Ganze to the stars with us! Every Thursday (depending on the weather) a stargazing tour takes place at the Maseben mountain hut. The Maseben mountain hut can be reached after a two-hour hike with an elevation gain of 400 meters, where we strenghen ourselfes with a dinner and a drink. Afterwards, the star guides will introduce you to the world of the night sky through the telescopes.

Ski tour for beginners and slightly advanced skiers accompanied by a mountain guide. Descent on skis from the mountain station Grawand to an altitude of around 2,700 meters. From this point you start the ascent in the open terrain, which, depending on the conditions, brings the group to 3,100 m (glacier terrain). After a short rest, a descent in soft powder awaits you. The prepared valley run takes you back to the starting point of the tour to Maso Corto/Kurzras. In the case of bad weather, the tour will start from Maso Corto/Kurzras. Group ascent with the Schnalstal Valley Glacier Cable Car to 3,200 metres. We’ll cross the Hochjochferner accompanied by a mountain guide, experience the glacier in all its beauty, and learn many interesting and historical things. At the end of the glacier there is an ice cave at 2,800 m. After exploring the cave and taking a rest in this solitary alpine world, the path continues to the Schöne Aussicht Refuge and afterwards we descend to the Teufelsegghütte Mountain Hut. The Roter Kofel chair lift brings us back to Maso Corto/Kurzras around 3:30 p.m. Walking time: approx. 5-6 hours including breaks Difference in altitude: around 300 m in the ascent and 1,000 m in the descent (about 8 km distance) Number of participants: minimum 2 people (participation from 14 years) Requirement: good physical condition

After first getting to know each other, starting from the animals’ winter quarters in Laces, with the llamas on a leash we walk through the surrounding apple meadows and along a serpentine path up to the castle ruins of Untermontani with a wonderful view over the entire central Vinschgau Valley. On an old Waalweg (irrigation channel) we then cross the woods above Laces with our cuddly four legged friends that leads us to the sunny plateau of the Magrinböden. From there we descend via a forest path to the Bierkeller (refreshments possible), before returning to the starting point.

Join the Luggin family in Laas/Lasa and discover the Kandlwaalhof organic farm where first-grade fruit and herbs grow in temperate conditions at an elevation of 900 m. Try some of their crafted products such as apple juice, dried fruit, vinegar, and mustards. Another highlight: during the flowering season, take a tour of the apple orchards and learn all kinds of interesting facts about apple farming. The Ötzi Glacier Tour is an extremely varied one day round tour, which crosses the main chain oft the Alps. It takes place every Tuesday and upon request. The undisputed highlight of this accompanied glacier skitour is the discovery site of Ötzi the Iceman (3,210 m). Starting from Kurzras. From there we will travel by cable car to the Grawand mountain terminal (3,100 m./10,170 ft.), the actual starting point of our tour. From there, we will travel over the Hochjochferner (2,800 m / 9,186 ft.) to the Schwarze Wand and on to the Hauslabjoch (3,280 m./ 10,761 ft.) We will then descend to the Tisenjoch (3,210 m. /10,532 ft.), the site where Ötzi was discovered. After a brief stop, we will ascend to the Hauslabjoch and descend into the Hochjoch Valley and continue down the valley to Kurzras. With suitable snow conditions, the course of the tour may change after the site where Ötzi was discovered: descent past the Similaun Refuge (3,019 m / 9,905 ft.) and through the Tisen Valley to Vernagt am See. Return to Kurzras. Requirements and conditions of participation: change in elevation ↑ approx. 600 m (1,969 ft.), ↓ approx. 2,100 m (6,890 ft.); duration: approx. 7 hours; basic physical condition; good parallel skiing ability (ski tour experience not necessary).

While winter sports enthusiasts still feel comfortable in the ski resorts of the Ortler region and on the Schnalstal Glacier, the MTB season on the sunny Sonnenberg in Venosta Valley is already in full swing. On this easy e-bike spring tour, MTB guide Eugen takes his guests over the sun-drenched slopes between Prad am Stilfserjoch and Kastelbell.
