The Church of St Johann in Taufers was built around 1220. The Romanesque church building has the shape of a Greek cross. The fully painted groined vault shows Byzantine influences, and the frescoes from the late Romanesque period are also worth seeing. Every Wednesday between 8.30 am to 12.30 am, the pedestrian zone and Peter-Glückh-Platz in Mals bustle with activity. Fresh local produce, such as fruit, berries and vegetables, cheeses, bacon and bread types, jam, vinegar, juices and herbal teas, are always available for sale at the farmer's market. There are also craft and handicraft products made of stone, wood or felt for sale, as well as textiles, leather goods, plants, and equipment of all kinds for house and garden.

Up above Martell Valley, lies the Niederhof at an altitude of 1,650 m. Take a guided tour of the original farm museum, providing an insight into life on a mountain farm in the past and present. Afterwards, home-made farm products can be tasted against surcharge.

The church of St Veit stands on the Tartscher Bühel hill. The Romanesque church from the 11th century houses frescoes inside, some of which are badly damaged. The entire west wall is filled with a cycle of paintings (fragments) dating from the 16th century. On a visit to a farm garden with an experienced herbalist, you'll pick various medicinal herbs, learn about their curative properties and then process them into ointments and other natural remedies.

As every year, the St. Veit market is held in June. This is one of the fairs in the Upper Venosta Valley. To be more precise, it is held on the Tarces hill and in the village of Tarces. In addition to the hustle and bustle of the market, the focus here is also on socialising. With good food and drink, great music and a children's programme, there is something for everyone! There are, of course, handicraft products as well as colourful, tasty and healthy products on offer. In addition to the grocer's market, the farmers' market offers lots of regional and farm produce from the surrounding area. Feel free to drop by!

Ornithological hike with Hansjörg Götsch on the Vinschger Sonnenberg/Monte Sole - the birds off the Vinschger Sonnenberg/Monte Sole. Majestic Bearded vultures breed in special places of the Stelvio National Park. If new broods successfully come up again this year, fledglings can be observed on their first flight attempts during guided tours with National Park Rangers. Guided sunrise hike Travel by minibus to the Plantapatsch mountain hut (2150 m). From there we hike approx. 1.5 hours to the Watles summit (2555 m). There we will watch the sunrise. Guided hike along the 360° circular hiking trail from the Egghof farm in Taufers i. M. to Schlinig. Ride with the hiking taxi from Mals railway station to the Egghof farm above Taufers i. M. From there via the "Tellaalm" to the "Tellajoch". The "Tellajoch" surprises with a 360° panoramic view of the mountain peaks of the Ortler and Sesvenna groups. The 360° viewing platform highlights the mountain panorama. Continue first downhill to the Laatscher and Schleiser Alm alpine pastures with insights into the Upper Venosta Valley alpine farming. From there, hike uphill to Monterodes and then back downhill over the Kälberberg to the village of Schlinig. Return journey by public bus. Nostalgic vehicles combined with a unique pass road and an unrivalled mountain landscape - the Oldtimer Tractor Tour offers all of this. This year, the vintage tractor tour will take place on 21 June 2025 to mark the 200th anniversary of the Stelvio Pass. Organised by the Oldtimer Club Vinschgau with registration from mid-February on the homepage of the Oldtimer Club Vinschgau. Around 300 vintage tractors meet in Prad in June. A unique experience not only for the participants. The spectators are also treated to a fascinating sight as the highly polished gems wind their way from Prad up the 48 hairpin bends to the 2,757 metre high Stilfserjoch. It's not the fastest that wins, but the fastest time.

A guided botanical walk along the Solda panorama path: Starting in the village centre, we walk past the parish church of St. Gertraud to panorama trail no. 7, which we follow into the valley past meadows, pastures, woods and small streams to the valley station of the Solda cable car. There we switch to the opposite side of the valley, with its sunny and dry slopes. We now return to our starting point with a splendid view of the north face of the Ortler mountain along panorama trail no. 6. Along the way, we will be able to admire numerous species of flowers, including the species Pedicularis recutita, Alpine clematis, Globeflower, Twinflower , Lesser twayblade, Greek valerian, Orange hawkweed, Bearded bellflower and many others. On 27 June 2025, the legendary Stelvio road will be closed to motorised traffic for the first half of the night and will be completely open to cyclists and pedestrians. The last seven kilometres of the 'Berghotel Franzenshöhe' before the summit will be magically illuminated by indirect lighting to show participants the way to the 2,757-metre peak. Whether on foot, by (E-)bike or other non-motorised means of transport; everyone is invited to take an enjoyable journey along the Stelvio Pass road at night on June 27, 2025 EXPERIENCE A MAGICAL MOMENT AND A UNIQUE EXPERIENCE! Sacred Heart Sunday in Prato allo Stelvio On the third Sunday after Pentecost every year, fires of the Sacred Heart are lit on the high peaks throughout South Tyrol and in particularly spectacular fashion around Prato allo Stelvio/Prad am Stilfserjoch. The fires, which are visible at great distances, involve groups of young people and adults, who take considerable trouble to re-enact this centuries-old custom each year, attracting numerous tourists and curious onlookers. The tradition of the mountain fires actually dates back to pre-Christian times but in 1796, by the time Napoleon's army had reached the Alps, the light of the fires was turned into the Sacred Heart alliance. When faced with the threat of war, the Tyrolean parliament decided to entrust the country to the care of the most holy heart of Jesus in the quest for Divine redemption.
