The Sasso Piatto il situated between Val Gardena and the Altopiano dello Sciliar in proximity of the Sassolungo.

The Puez hut was built in 1889 by the Austro-German section of the Alpenverein. After the First World War it passed to the Bolzano section of the CAI which, in 1940, handed it over to the well-known alpine guide Pietro Costa, an expert ski instructor and passionate hunter. Costa ran the hut until 1989 and then passed the helm to his children Oscar and Gemma. With the passing of the years and the explosion of high-altitude tourism, needs changed. In order to adapt to the times, the CAI decided to build a new, larger and more modern hut next to the old building. Thus it was that on 8th August 1982, in the presence of the then President of the Republic Sandro Pertini, the new Puez Refuge was inaugurated. In 2024 the Puez hut passed into the hands of the next generation and is now managed by Costa Denis, Pietro Costa's grandson. Assisted by his wife and two daughters, Denis carries on his grandfather's legacy with love and passion.

Enjoy a nourishing meal after an exciting or demanding excursion in our traditional alpine hut and let yourself be overcome by the smell of wood. We offer tasty dishes of local cuisine and snacks for in between and you can choose from a large selection of excellent wines. In winter the hut is ideally situated in the skiing area and directly on the downhill ski slope from Seceda to Ortisei, "La Longia". From Selva / Plan path no. 654 starts in the direction of Passo Gardena via the beautiful Plans de Frea.

The fairly short yet busy via ferrata boasts a magnificent view of the north face of the Sella
Group, the Sassolungo and the Puez plateau.

Mesc da Paratoni farm is set at an altitude of 1,585 metres above sea level, high above the sunny slopes of St. Christina. Wonderful views of the surrounding Dolomites may be enjoyed from here. This listed farmhouse has been refurbished to a high standard and made accessible to the public as an inn both historical dining rooms invite guests to enjoy typical Ladin specialities.
