On the Merano High Mountain Trail (trail n° 24), the entire Texel Group Nature Park can be circumnavigated in a hiking tour of four to six days. The best time to hike the Merano High Mountain Trail (trail n° 24) is: The northern part is a summer tour, walkable from the end of June to the beginning of October (depending on snow conditions). The southern and eastern sections can often be walked all year round and are suitable for one-day tours. The numerous typical South Tyrolean mountain inns and refuges inviting you to rest and have a snack, the varied world of peaks and the magnificent mountain lake landscape of the Spronserseen lakes make the Merano High Mountain Trail in the Texel Group Nature Park a unique hiking area!
The Aschbach/Rio Lagundo cable car quickly ascends to 1,362 m, bringing visitors up to the attractive village of Aschbach/Rio Lagundo, one of the best hikes for exploring the Nörderberg mountain!
This high waterfall of almost 100 metres is the main landmark of Partschins/Parcines, a highlight for any visitor. It is a popular motif for photo-shoots, but also for cooling down hikers with its pleasantly soothing mist, as well as having a welcome therapeutic effect for the respiratory tract and lungs.
Circular walk, no fear of heights required
This circular walk allows you to look behind the largest waterfall in South Tyrol, leads to emerald green pools and small waterfalls. Breathtaking viewpoints and the sound of cascades invite you to linger and relax. If you want to get very close to the Partschins waterfall before you start your walk, you can make a short detour (5 minutes walk) to the viewing platform.

Bad Egart is considered the oldest spa in Tyrol. The spring has been used for drinking and bathing cures since 1430, but probably as early as Roman times. Today Bad Egart is home to one of the most extraordinary museums of the Imperial and Royal period as well as an open-air museum with many curiosities.

The Algund irrigation channel pathway, or Waalweg, is a 10 km long path running alongside the old irrigation channel. Flat and even almost all the way, the trail boasts incredible views over the Meran/o area and leads you through Plars, Algund/Lagundo village and Gratsch/Quarazze until you get to the Saint Magdalena Chapel and then along the Tappeiner path to Meran/o city.
Wonderful four-hour difficult mountain hike to the lonely mountain farms of the Vertigner and Tablander hamlets.
Tabland and Vertigen are two small hamlets on the steep slopes of the Partschinser Sonnenberg.
Here you can find the oldest and partly historical mountain farms (reclamation in the High Middle Ages) of the Partschins municipality. Approximately one thousand metres in altitude separate the farms from the village.
The mountain hamlet Tabland (1,243 m) consists of the oldest Partschins mountain farms: Egger, Brunner, Oberlechen (1,350 m), Raweiner, Prünster (1,196 m). From the Prünster, which runs a restaurant in addition to the farmhouse, you have a wonderful view of the remaining farms Steiner (1,442 m), Fletscher (1,290 m), Rammwald and Dursterhof (1,057 m).

The Merano High Mountain Trail n° 24 runs for almost 100 km around the Texel Group Nature Park, from farm to farm, from village to village, from valley to valley. On this stage you can get to know a short section of the Merano High Mountain Trail West! This very popular stage of the Merano High-Altitude Trail is spectacular and full of views. Legendary on the Merano High Mountain Trail is the 1000-step gorge (1000-Stufen Schlucht) with suspension bridge! The famous 1000-Stufen Schlucht: there are "only" 987 steps, but they are quite a challenge...your knees may shake a little afterwards)
"Of water and of light" - untouched nature in the Zieltal valley in the Texel Group Nature Park!
At the back of Partschins/Parcines lies the spectacular water-rich Zieltal valley in the middle of the Texel Group Nature Park.
Water is an essential basic element of the nature park. It appears in the Zieltal as a waterfall, spring or rushing stream and here it also impressively demonstrates its shaping and landscape-forming power. Here the Zielbach river plunges into the depths as an almost 100 m high Partschins/Parcines waterfall.
This hike through the Ziel Valley, in the heart of the Texel Group Nature Park, will give you a unique experience of nature!

The Marlinger Waalweg is one of the most beautiful irrigation channels in the Meran region. With a length of 12 km, it is the longest irrigation channel path in South Tyrol. It starts in Töll/Tel (municipality of Partschins) and leads through the villages of Forst (municipality of Algund), Marling, Tscherms and Lana. The trail runs almost level along the irrigation channel and is ideal for families and children. Between chestnut groves and extensive orchards, the magnificent views of the Meran basin are inspiring. The ideal hiking time for this irrigation canal trail is spring (when the trees are in blossom) and autumn.
This round trip leads through Vertigen along the historic Partschins/Parcines irrigation canal path (Partschinser Waalweg). The path leads along the so-called Trail of Tales, which passes numerous prehistoric findings, cult places and locations related to witchcraft tales (information on the Trail of Tales is available at the local tourist offices). The path leads past several farms and inns and leads up to the top spot of this tour: the 97 m high Parcines waterfall.
Without a doubt, the Partschinser waterfall is among the loveliest in the alpine region. It is situated in the Zieltal valley, north west of Partschins/Parcines and with a drop height of around 97 meters, plunges from 1,110 meters to 1,015 meters above sea level. The Zieltal valley and its tributary valleys and various three thousand meter-plus mountains stretch out over several kilometers to the north. To the south, the Zielbach stream flows through Salten, then past Partschins/Parcines, finally joining the river Etsch/Adige between Rabland/Rablà and Töll/Tel. The waterfall is at its most powerful during the thaw from May to June, or after heavy rainfall. At these times, up to 10,000 liters of water per second find their way down into the valley.
