After an impressive film screening, we’ll cycle together from Laas/Lasa through Tarnell up to the fascinating Göflan/Covelano marble quarry (approx. 1,300 metres of elevation gain). Look forward to breathtaking views and an exciting tour of the historic alpine quarry. To recharge, we’ll enjoy a relaxed break at the Göflan mountain hut with a hearty snack (not included in the price). Back in the marble village of Laas, the perfect finale awaits you: indulge yourself at Venustis with exquisite chocolate and praline creations! guided tour - The National Park visitor centre avimundus in the pediastrian zone of Silandro is entirely devoted to the bird kingdom of the Stelvio National Park. It offers visitors an overview of the world of birds, and selected bird species are clearly presented and assigned to their respective habitats. Visitors are given extensive information about the breeding and rearing, and on bird voices and their songs.

The Church of St Johann in Taufers was built around 1220. The Romanesque church building has the shape of a Greek cross. You’ll learn all about the valley and its inhabitants and gain an overview prehistoric and early history of the Venosta Valley, the immaterial cultural heritage of the irrigation channels, and the story of the Swabian Children and poverty in the valley. Visit one of the oldest preserved churches in Europe. The small church of St Benedict from the 8th century AD has Carolingian wall paintings inside, which are among the oldest frescoes in Western Europe. A building from the 8th century. The Romanesque tower dates from the 12th century. The paintings and Carolingian frescoes inside are among the oldest in the entire German-speaking world. The church harbours the world's only portrait of a Frankish landlord. In addition to the permanent exhibitions ‘The discovery of Ötzi’ and ‘Primitive? Skilled!’, the archeoParc in Madonna di Senales presents a small photo exhibition every year in the museum’s cafeteria. This year’s edition features works by the young hunter Simone Santer: photographs of animals, plants, and landscapes. In addition to the permanent exhibitions ‘The Ötzi Find’ and ‘Flora, Fauna, Man’, the archeoParc in Unser Frau presents a small special exhibition every year. This year's edition is called ‘Glaciers and Me’ and is dedicated to two artistic positions on the topic to mark the Year of Glaciers: paintings by Jessie Pitt (Melbourne/Längenfeld) and photographs by Daniela Brugger (Karthaus) together with texts by glaciologist Georg Kaser (Karthaus) invite visitors to discover and reflect. New Wines with Old Roots “New Val Venosta wines” as fine-structured mountain wines from Colsano. Thomas Plack was precisely nineteen years old when he took over the estate in Colsano at the foot of Monte Mezzodì in the Val Venosta in 1989. Today, in addition to five hectares of fruit orchards, he also manages three hectares of vineyards upon which, as Plack himself says, “new Val Venosta wines” are created. In (Wine) Heaven In Castelbello, the special feature of the Val Venosta’s Monte Mezzodì is exploited It is not without reason that the Monte Mezzo dì-Sonnenberg carries its name [“Midday Mountain” in Italian, “Sun Mountain” in German]. More than 250 days of sun per year can be counted here, the temperature differentials between day and night are extreme, and the amount of precipitation is lower than anywhere else in Alto Adige. These extraordinary conditions are used by Markus Fliri at the Himmelreich-Hof in Castelbello in order to produce wines with strong character. The vineyards of the Himmelreich-Hof, just precisely two hectares, lie at an elevation of 650 meters, and the moraine soils, a remnant of the last ice age, have a high mineral content which can be tasted in the grapes. And thus also in the wine. “It is a matters of importance to us to produce natural, sincere wines with strong character,” says Fliri. (only iin german and italian language)

We take the shuttle bus together to the Rebhof winery in Galsaun: Leo Forcher is considered a jack-of-all-trades in Val Venosta/Vinschgau. In addition to a tree nursery and fruit growing, he dedicates himself to his true passion: viticulture. Fertile soils on sun-favoured slopes provide ideal conditions for the growth of the vines. And intensive care forms the basis for the ripening of high-quality grapes of the classic grape varieties, which are still harvested by practised hands. (only in german and italian language)

Descent on skis from the mountain station Grawand to an altitude of around 2,700 meters.
